I have recently learned that a digital in connection is required for DD, but my sound system only has a digital out connection :(, I was just wondering what pro logic 2 is as I had always assumed I was getting DD and if the quality difference is enough to justify buying a new sound system with a digital in? Thanks for the comments.

no you can have Dolby Digital (Dolby Surround) through Analogbut the sound isn't as nice.

Also, Dolby Digital is alot better then Pro Logic..Way better, i know cause i have 2 systems and both sound WAY better in 5.1 Dolby Digital
