So, I have a pretty crappy standard TV for playing 360, but my computer monitor is a lot better. I'm pretty sure it's a Sony SDM-HS95P/S. My question is, do the cables work with any computer monitor and if they do, is that all I would need to play 360 on my computer monitor?

I don't know anything about your computer monitor, but yeah that should be all you need.

yes, the VGA cables will work with your PC monitor as long as your monitor has a port for the VGA cable

make sure your computer monitor has the pins on the back, where the vga plugs in. Almost all computer monitors have this but you should check just incase. If it has the holes for the pins than yes, youre set. I use one and it is actually betterand more clear than an hdtv.

Yeah make sure they have the VGA port. It really depends on the brand of the monitor, Im not sure about Sony. I know most Dells have both VGA and DVI ports. But, the Apple Cinema Display I have doesn't have any port at all.

Had the same problem as you, don't worry buy the Microsoft VGA Cable. It will work with your monitor. I did tons of research on this and in the end I am enjoying my Xbox 360 games, Call of Duty 2 and Oblivion in 720p. The Microsoft VGA Cables come with the VGA Cable, a adapter, and a sound adapter.

Now if you don't have a VGA input on the back of your Monitor than you use the adapter that comes with the Microsoft VGA Cable. You plug it to the adapter, take out the DVI from the back of your monitor and plug it on the other end of the adapter, screw in the little nuts on both sides of both the VGA and DVI. There you're set for that part!

Now for audio, you take the red/white cable from the VGA and plug it onto the sound adapter, that converts it into one plug only, there you plug it on the back of your computer, find a place to plug it in for you sound inputs and plug it in, don't unplug anything though for your sound, you only need to plug it in next to the one where your sound is. I have a pink, green, and blue sound input on the back of my computer. The green is for my speakers and the blue is for my sound.

Mabye this will help you out a bit for your question.
