my first one i want answered ONLY by people who have both a ps3 and a 360 well, at the end of the month, i was gonna get a ps3 once i finished all my summer work for school next year, kinda like a self reward thing. but now, my best friend and neighbor is buyin a 360 i was planin on gettin a 360 at the end of the year, but now i wonder if i should get one now and then the ps3 at the end of the year now why is this a problem for me? as most of you know, the new 80 gig model of the ps3 wont have the EE chip, and i play socom online and i want to be able to stay in contact with my clan up untill the next socom comes out now my secong question how often do 360s get the red ring of death? is it like chicken pox, where u will get it at least once at one point er another? and wat about the elite? does that get the ring?scooder
wait till the end of the year to get ps3 and get 360 now, ps3 might be cheaper at xmas and xbox 360 just had a price cut.
you will need to get a ps2 network disk to make soccom work on network.
1/3 consoles get it. 2 of mine have and i sold to get ps3 and im getting a 360 again at xmas. yes it happens alot, 3/4 of my mates 360s have busted and who knows when the 4th will.
yes it does, look it up on youtube.

I own both and you do have a little dilema. Here's the thing - The 60gb PS3 is better because of the EE chip - you're right and it's also less expensive right now. Because of that I would lean towards telling you to get the PS3 first and get it quickly before the 60gb units are gone.
The thing is that the games for the PS3 at present are very limited. By Q1 2008 things will be much better - but that doesn't help right now.
The 360 on the other hand has a ton of great games already. The price will most likely not drop again from it's current price by the end of the year. As far as the ROD - I wouldn't worry about it as the brand new versions of the console are going to be much more reliable due to a number of upgrades that have been implemented. Again this won't change by the end of the year.
All in all - it's a tough choice - the temporary price reduction and right time to buy (PS3) - more games immediately and more good ones on the way (360).
Personally I can only tell you what I would do if I were in your situation - and since you'll be buying both.
I would buy the PS3 60gb version now - especially since you are still enjoying some of the PS2 games and they can tide you over in addition to the few good PS3 games that are already out. There are allot of good exclusives coming to the PS3 but most won't hit until the end of the year or Q1 2008 - so as long as you can be satisfied with about 10 PS3 games and whatever PS2 games you still play between now and the end of the year - then I'd go with the PS3 to save the money and get the better hardware over what will be available in a couple of months (80gb no EE model). But if you are looking for a huge library of new HD games right off the bat - then the 360 is really the only option. Either way you'll be in gamer heaven by owning both - especially come Q4 2007.
:)
I wont have a PS3 until Christmas so you can disregard my answer but here goes...
I have had my 360 since December 23nd and it works well with the occational freezes. There are alot of people who have had the 360 since launch and it hasnt died yet. You also have a 3 year warrenty so its ok tho. Ok but after the reading all that crap heres my answer.
Buy the PS3!!! I know the 360 has better games ect but you said you eventually plan to get the other right? Yeah and your neighbor also has one so its all good. I wish i had the money now to buy the 60 gb before it runs out but i wont until Christmas.
Edit: Forgot to say the my 360 only freezes in the Dashboard, never when playign games for some reason. Maybe its because i try to load my profile the second i sign into xbox live but whatever.
