Rainbow Six Siege BETA sign up for XBO, GUARANTEED ACCESS

Saw this on the Xbox One dash today, you can sign up for guaranteed access the closed beta to Rainbow Six Siege on Xbox One starting next month (September 24th). I'm excited. This looks like a great competitive MP skirmish game taking me back to my Counter-Strike glory days.

If you're interested, check your dash. I saw the link in the featured ads on the right of the HOME tab. It took me to Internet Explorer where I signed up with my email address. This is worth noting, because you can (from what I can tell) only register for the beta by pre-ordering the game, at least that's what it looks like because I tried looking for the register link on my laptop browser.

Anyhow, went back and checks my Xbox One IE history for a link to the beta sign-up so you don't have to go through your Xbox One, or in case they pulled the beta sign up advertisement (I don't see the ad anymore), or in case you want to avoid the need to pre-order, here you go...

They sent me a confirmation email saying a follow up registration email will come within a week.

Cool. Even though this game looks less polished than Evolve and look at how much flack Evolve caught around here... GS is fulla PvE SP carebears.

I have a feeling if you see a friend on your list playing the game, you might be able to join them and then get prompted for the download. This worked for me previously for BLOPS3 and EASHL 16 Beta's. Didn't need a code or game to get into either beta.

I signed up about a week ago and got put on the wait list, this morning I got an email, saying I was in. The extra step basically was just logging in/verifying my uplay account.

I'm curious as to why people are looking forward to this game so much. With Halo 5, Battlefront, et.al., I'd assumed this game is just an also-ran title. Is there some interesting mechanic that I'm missing that isn't obvious in the previews/trailers, or, is it a story thing?

@xisiuizado: Reminds me of Counter Strike in the small arena, one life per player battles, with terrorist and counter-terrorist offense and defense objectives, but evolved to include destructible environments and class perks. If your you're into team competitive short skirmish kind of games this should be of interest. Whereas for a game like Halo I'm in it for a mix of its SP and MP elements of a much different style that appeals to me for other reasons.
