Alright, I know there was the thread at the top but I have to go out to the bust stop so I don't have time. I just wanted to know (since my mother didn't buy a waranty and I just got a 360 a few days ago) if I get the red light of death and send it into Microsoft, how much money do I have to pay and why?

you dont have to pay anything, since its the red lights of death....automatic 3 year warranty

3 Year Warranty. Just make sure to register your product at Xbox.com

Mine is 18 months old and just got the ring of death. I didn;t purchase a warranty and MS are fixing it at the moment. I would register your console though just to be sure!

Yes, make sure you register your console on XBox.com, then phone up microsoft tech support, (The number is at xbox.com/support) and they'll give you a UPS number and arrange a pick up date. This is FREE of charge btw.

If you got it a few days ago take it back to the store for an exchange. That is what I would do

Okay I got finished with school but I think some of you misunderstood. I didn't get the red light of death, it is just that a whole bunch of people said I should get a warranty. But the only reason I would need a warranty (I think) is if I just tipped the XBOX 360 over while it was running or did something else stupid to it, so is there a point in the warranty. Also, by register at xbox.com (or whatever it was) do you mean if I didn't register and I got the red ring then they wouldn't fix it or what.
