so im just wondering if im not alone here. because well lots of forums topics are rrod and who has had the quickest rrod and stuff well im sitting her wondering. is there a reason God picked me to be the only one on gamespot to not have experienced rrod . if i am well im surprised if im not i will be relieved in a way. becuase if people know im the only one people would want my 360. so yeah. anyone else not have rrod's ? apparently it is common but not for me. and all of you who have had rrod probably hate me or something similar.
I've never had the 3 red lights. The only reason I had to take my first one back in was because of a faulty Ethernet port. The next one I got worked great 'till I traded it in for my elite and that one hasn't given me any problems at all.
man u r lucky i had mine little more then a year and i got a rrod what ever you do never ever move it from its normal place and it wont break i brought mine on vaction and it broke the next day
I've never had RROD or have it freee on me. The worst thats happened is that Oblivion starts to lag(loading every two steps) after around three hours of play.
So far I haven't had a single problem with my 360, and it's used... but I've owned it less than 2 months. That said, I strongly suspect that a large percentage of hardware failures are the result of careless end users; e.g. placing the power supply on the carpet under the TV stand, slapping the console onto a shelf in between two other heat-generating items with its vents mostly blocked, changing the console orientation while it's on, etc. I'm sure some people are plenty careful and still have problems, but I bet the chances are a lot lower of you're careful.
I have had my Xbox 360 since launch. I played Halo 3 on it for hours on end and no RROD like many people were saying. My crazy sister even poured salt all over it, which obviously got into the holes on the sides, and still no red reing of death.
2nd shipment system here with no problems. People that have had theirs die are going to be more vocal than thoes with no problems and with the high failure rate(32-35 ish %)thats a lot of complaining. The main issueI see is everyons geting Refurbished systems when they send theirs in.
I personally buy the theory that its caused by low grade solder on the board unsticking connections on the PCB when the system overheats. Otherwise I dont see how the towel trick would be effective. I dont see how they could fix this issue without replacing the board in the unit and if they do that they may as well give you a completely new system.
I've got a launch system and I have not had a single sign of an approaching RROD.
The only time my system has even frozen was during the glitch of MLB 2K6 that was 2K's fault. They patched their game, and my beloved "Beastie" hasn't frozen since.

RROD free for almost a year now. still on my first btw.
i dont know if mines messed cause i bought it used of a friend it frozed ones on him and i think it froze ones on me too... one night i was talking to people about the RROD and the next day i had the RROD on my xbox ... i didnt know what to do, i restarted the xbox and it works fine now... i dont know if that was just a councidence.. but yea i dont usually play my xbox unless theres a game im into so who knows i might get the RROD in a few months or so... i hope not.

Try clearing your cache except after i cleared mine i played oblivion and got the rrod when i got my 360 everything worked fine
i have had mine since last Christmas and well now i know im not the only who hasnt had rrod. now i dont feel like the only one when i read the extremely common forums like that. i just wanted to see results. and i got them. anyone know how to lock a forum?yes im new that why im only like level 7.
