One of my best friends bought himself a "refurbished" Xbox 360 off of ebay and of course the machine doesn't work at all. He did this despite my advice of not doing it.

The seller of course will not respond, but I was wondering what the Microsoft repair policy is regarding this. If anyone has had a similar situation please help me out here.

I bought mine refurbished off e-bay and although it worked, after less than a year it red ringed. Of course I didn't have it registered etc but I called MS and they took it in for free. If your friend used paypal or a credit card, i think he can reverse the payment. I've done with a CC payment, dunno about paypal. They should fix it, but you'll just get another crappy refurb but at least itll work for awhile
