Red Dead Redemption will kick all those games asses including Splinter Cell. The game has potential to be game of the year.Gunslinger_1988
Exactly. My goty so far is ME2 wich is incredible. But RDR can take his place, it has that potential. Let's see. So far the game keeps getting better, Rockstar did it again.
its like compare apples and oranges since they both diferent type of games. one of a sandbox game and the other is survival horror. but i think u will get more bang for your bucks with red dead redemption.
why are people so high on RDR? do people want to be a cowboy that much? I'm not trying to mock i'm seriously asking, what is it about this game that makes you want it so badly? Alan Wake looks origional, looks like it will have a great story, and could potentially be GOTY as well, although I doubt it would pass ME2.

but he's asking which is better and they haven't even come out yet. Not only that but they are completely different. The only opinions we can give are impressions and that's not much at all imo. I guess to stay on topic id say im for Alan Wake. I feel both are gonna be great games but im looking for something new and besides RDR doesn't seem to have much in common with the first red dead game which i kinda disappointing for me because now it just feels like its a GTA Western which isnt a bad thing really just not fresh to me.
I watched the first two vids, and re-read the article in gameinformer, I just don't see it.. it's GTA but in the west. I have no desire to be a cowboy.. The best part of GTA is finding and collecting awesome cars, and well.. now you have horses? meh.. It's not fresh, just the same ole same ole from rockstar, but with lots more dust. Although RDR will sell more no doubt, it's multiplat, and it'll sell just on the rockstar name alone.
I've waited for a great open world western game for too long so of course RDR is my most anticipated game for the year let alone out of the two mentioned. Alan Wake will be be awesome as well. Can't wait to play AW in HD in the dark w/ my HD headsets. I love the atmosphere.
RDR for me probably. I'm kind of concerned with the whole "episodic" feature of Alan Wake. I'm not sure exactly how it's going to go with that game, but I hate buying DLC, and if that's required to keep up with the story, then I may give it a pass. Not to mention, I've been jonesing for a good western game since Gun.
