The new party system basically does away with the rampant trash talk by allowing youto talk with only your friends

While it is good to have the option to party chat, I'd prefer to be able to be in public chat with cool people. It's not that most people are trash talkers, it's that most people don't talk because of the trash talkers. So, the trash talkers are the only people you hear from in public chat.
cool people talking>quiet>stupid people talking
I just wish more cool people used their mics like they did back when the 360 was first launched, and before all the annoying people from Halo2 moved over to the 360.

just mute the idiots, they dont ruin xbox live because theirs so many ways to ignore them, and its not as bad as people make outNot disagreeing, because i agree, but i think that you are being a bit sterocrytical because there are some good kids out there who just have their mics unplugged for the same reason as us. And i'm not one of those trash talking 12 years olds, im older too
Little children and annoying teenagers are the reason why I only keep my mic on when I'm playing Team Fortress 2. I've only ran into one screaming idiot on that game, and all the little kids I've teamed up with actually acted mature, of course I'm usually in a party with my friends anyway so it doesn't make too much of a difference.
I think this whole 'XboxLive is nothing but immature kids!'-idea is greatly exaggerated. I'll come across maybe one unbearable gamer a day at most. I'd say the large majority of people playing games are pleasant enough to talk to if you make an effort to speak up. Some people just dont want to talk, and thats fine, I get that way, too, but many others are typically up for it. In fact, I think its gotten more to the point where people dont want to speak up thats become the problem. Good conversation doesn't start on its own, it requires people to actually start it.
Granted, I dont play Halo 3, so that community may be worse than I realize, but I do play Call of Duty 4 and World at War.

You're right, I didn't mean to give the impression that I believe all young people on xbox live are annoying. It's just that the annoying ones often fit in they're age group.
I also understand that the really young kids actually have it much worse than I do, cuz I've heard adults up in their mid twenties cussing out young kids not because the kid was causing trouble, but because the adults just don't want the little kids in the game/conversation. Of course that was back when people talked
why theirs more squeeky children on line now is because there prants have bought the games and xbox for them. The NXE is absolutly mint compared to what it used to be (i'll add). the community is genrally good just stop playing COD 4 or halo. for instance on halo wars you i've never heard a trash talking person
Really? It was different? I remember getting an xbox and live at launch...and people have been acting the same since
I was just thinking about when I first logged onto xbox live. The first game I played online was Call of Duty 2, and I was so surprised by the diversity of people that you could talk to. There were people of all ages and genders, and except for the occational trash talking teen or child, everyone was really pleasant and fun to talk to.
Now it seems that all of the rude teens and annoying kids have caused all of the respectful adults and females, who want to actually have nice conversations, to leave their mics out of their controllers.
It's a real shame. Most xbox live games are either completely quiet, or just have one or two annoying teens yelling at unresponsive players.

I didn't have xbox live back then, but I understand what you mean about the annoying people screaming at people that are doing certain stuff. I usually just leave my mic unplugged, but sometimes I plug it in because my parents don't want to hear the foul language coming from the TV Speakers.
I think all games have different communities with different attitudes. Halo 3 definitaly has the most immature and screechy users. Gear of War 2 swear too much, Call of Duty goers like to talk about how great they are. I think the only game with good people on it is Team Fortress.
