it seems like all you do is go to the view point, save a few citizens, do some investigating and assassinate and then is repeated for the next target no change between missions. Tokaylegend
yup :)
Well it seems to work otherwise it wouldn't have done so well, yes?
If there are plans to bring a sequel into the picture, they should probably take heed on this :)
A lot of the investigations you do give you intel on the best and most effiecient way to assassinate your target. It gives you paths, locations of guards, any possible threats as well as a background history on your target. I thought that was a good touch to make things more fluid and realistic.gonna have to agree with you on that one.
AC has a good story if you actually listen to it and read all those intels so to say it's repetitive and put it down like that is really a loss on your part man. It's one of those games that take time to build up and just so you know the ending is unreal.Strife88

That's exactly how I played it and I got a lot of entertainment out of it. That's honestly how the game was meant to be played and if you don't do it that way, you're missing out on a lot and most likely you won't like the game. It's open world but with a linear story.
The actions themselves stay the same (pickpocket, viewpoints, save citizens, informant, beat up random guy), but with each memory it becomes increasingly harder. The game starts throwing more beggars at you to throw you off, or crazy/drunk guys that knock you into guards right as you ar about to pick someones pocket. The guards also get a lot smarter, so the whole counter-attack, counter-attack, counter-attack routine doesn't work as well. Not to mention that it is easy to get swarmed by guards very quickly.
I guess this was billed as an action/adventure game, but I would put it more in the "puzzle" category.

Tokaylegendyoure an assasin, you assasinate people, what is your point? it is repetitive but thats kinda all they do ya know?

That is pretty much it as far as gameplay variety. AC is the only game that I regret buying. I would pay $30 for it but not $60 that I paid last fall.
The concept is cool, and it got this beautifully realised world, but there is just not much to do in it unfortunately. Most of main gameplay in AC would be just an extra missions/collectibles in other sandbox games (pigeons, races, stunt jumps, side misssions in GTA IV for instance) that I usually never bother finishing in these games in the first place.
