The trailier looks intense - I only played the 1st one years ago on the PS1 - didn't care much for it - but this one looks so much better.

Has the Resident Evil series evolved enough to bother with #2 - 4 ?

Resident Evil 1-3 are all pretty much the same... improving with each one, however they made a giant leap with RE4... amazing game, you really should check it out if you are into 3rd person adventure games.

i only played RE4 and it is a definate must play. i watched my dad play RE2 when i was younger and from what i can remember it was pretty good. but RE4 has evolved alot sense then. great 3rd person adventure/shooter/horror/survuval game. it has a great story to it and great gameplay. i played it on pc but i here its much better on ps2 gamecube & wii. definately play RE4.

i only played re4 on wii, and it was sick, but ya 1-3 i hear are all pretty much the same, but 4 is pro, and re5 is supposed to be just like re4, just newer, or at least that's what it looks like in the trailer,

RE4 is what made me start playing the series. If 5 is anything like it then the game will be a must play for me.

RE4 is one of my favorite games of all time, its a must buy, and for the GC or PS2 its only like 20 bucks

Evolved? YES! The most recent, Resident Evil 4 has an over-the-shoulder view and lots more intensity then it's cousins on the PS1 who focused far more on horror, and I'd suggest trying out RE4, AT LEAST..since it's the closest thing to the new one you'll have a chance to play.
