After seeing the new famitsu scans of RE5 where it shows two new characters (presumed bad guys) and the shots of Chris and Sheva jumping together got me thinking about how the co-op will play.
Now Resident Evil 4 was kind of knit-picked for the puzzles being too easy and there being too much action. But I remember when playing as Ashley (most annoying part of that game...well...only annoying part of that game) her entire gameplay was puzzles...so that got me thinking. What if the one playing as Chris has to fight off countless ganados while the one playing as Sheva has to figure out how to stop them invading.
Example: Chris and Sheva enter a building that contains gas pipes. As they venture further tons of enemies start to flood the area. Chris must fend them off while Sheva makes her way around the different valves trying to figure out how to release a stream of gas that would block the baddies, and once solved Chris must shoot the gas stream. INSTANT BLOCKADE!!
Remember in RE4: Separate Wayswhen Leon was fighting Saddler and Ada had to rush over to the platform where the special parasite killing rocket launcher was sitting, all while she was fighting off ganados and having to make it before a crap load of C4 goes off. What if in RE5 the one playing as Chris has to fend off the boss while the one controlling Sheva has to find a way to kill it
I think in a way that puts alot of stress on both players. Chris must fight off the enemies, protect Sheva, and not get killed himself....while Sheva has to figure out how to stop the momentary invasion before Chris runs out of ammo or gets killed. Both truly rely on each other.
Well thats pretty much what my theory on the co-op gameplay will be in RE5. Let me know what you think the co-op will play as. I'd like to see other peoples thoughts on what we might be getting next year....................Spring of next year that is....::sigh::
