Resident Evil Racism?

Discovering new ways to kill black people? I am an African male, and I do not find this game in anyway racist. It seems to be another great Resident Evil game. What do you guys think of it?imafreshman

Unfortunately Resident Evil 5 will be played by the same racist people you'll find on Xbox Live and the same people who modded the character on GTA San Andreas to white because they didn't want to play someone black.

Can someone clear something up, because I am pretty sure they mentioned Umbrellla Corp and Africa in RE 0 (or one of them)I might be wrong, as it's been a while since I played it. If this is right than they have been thinking about adding it into the story for a while.

I don't think in not way shape, from or fashion that RE5 makers are attempting to be racist. I think the real matter lies in the game industry as a hole. I have been playing video games for quite awhile and as a black male I tend to always notice a couple of things. Their almost never seems to be a main character who isn't a white male with brown hair. Let me name some of my favorite games over the years: Syphon Filter, Zelda, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Kill Switch, Pit Fall, Re, Gears of War, Resistance fall of man, Rainbow six, DMC andNeed for Speed (Wanted). Normally when you see a ethnic front man for a game its a basketball,baseball ,soccer, martial arts andGang related games. I just wished that one time I could be the ethinc dude in Gears or have an option to createa main character that looks like me in a shooter or RPG. Because its all about money the industry will continue to sale gameswith the main characters thatare safe.Objectively looking at things......because of the cast in RE5 they might even sell more units do to the sad state of americans.Yea we have came a long way but we still have a long way to go.

I agree there isn't a variety in the ethincity in the main characters. I think that comes from some of the other developers inability to connect with another race or their refusal to do so. Even though this continues to happen in the gaming industry it doesn't affect my ability to enjoy a great game. Itwould be nice thought to have a surprise like Master Chief taking his helmet off and revealingthat humanity savioris anAfrician American male or woman. gah_mak

Just pointing out that I'm white. Gramblings not a black only school. Just like Howard University here in DC. Its just a traditionally black school so its mostly black people who go there. There are plenty of schools who are mostly white just like these are mostly black. Just thought I'd point that out.

As for RE5, y the hell are people still posting on this issue. Give it up, the game is not racist

Well my answer would be that sensitivities are created in our cultures according to our experiences. It is the black culture that endures racism in every aspect of their lives even today. It is always the elephant in the room. Many cultures are upset and offended when it is mentioned. Ok, i'm seriously sick of this sh*t. Get over it it's not racist. Where were all the black/africanpeople screaming out "racism" when we were killing spaniards in Resident Evil 4. It's placed on the poorer parts of Africa and guess who lives there? Yeah, they should sprinkle in a few white people, but ok. People just light the fire for no apparent reason and there are certain people who will bring up the race card whenever they see an oppurtunity.
