Mine would be Trials HDs' (Marathon Achievement) "The player has completed the Ultimate Endurance tournament without any faults." this tournament was 24 tracks xD...it requires you to buy a bike and learn how to use it, along with being a god. Ridiculous.
I gave up on the flag collecting achievements in the first AC. I was like "oh come on!!" there was sooo many of them. In Dead Rising I gave up on the genocider achievement. It's not hard to do, it's just such a menial task. Driving back and forth back and forth for what seems like forever just to get 20 lousy GS. Probably won't bother doing the one on DR2 either.

I remember seeing that on the list before I played and thinking "that ought to be pretty easy" since I was envisioning some random climbing to get flags waving in the breeze. When I realized it was tiny banners on little stands hiding in corners I didn't waste my time.
I gave up on the first Bad Company. For the longest time you couldn't even get all the awards so it was impossible to get that achievement. They since patched it but I'm not going back to it. Also, didn't want to put myself through going for all the markers in Lost Planet. You have to play the game 4 times on all difficulties and they are all hidden in different locations. I didn't even like the game that much so there is little chance I'll ever get around to doing that. On a side note, I did get Marathon, all the the AC flags and Zombie Genocider. :)

The only reason I was able to get zombie genocider was I wanted the mega man gun so badly, and it was worth it. Just watched tv while driving back and forth lol.
These days I give up on them pretty quickly if I can tell I'm not going to have fun and/or it's going to be a boring, pointless grind, but one that I gave up on after getting about halfway on it was the one in GTA IV where you have to win every race and win all the other online stuff. Winning matches in the other stuff wasn't bad but I got to a few racing wins and couldn't stand it anymore. The community was so absolutely awful and the racing wasn't fun.
tenpeat in super street fighter IV arcade edition. I dont see how that is even possible unless you are pro if you are playing nothing but ranked matches. For a casual gamer that is impossible, and I dont even consider myself that, I could play the game all day and never reach that achievement.
ok seeing as someone decide to be a crybaby and report me ill post again Gears of War 2 - Seriously 2.0 and Veteran Gear, i havent given up on either yet but im getting close to saying "cupcakes and unicorns" and give up on it completely alos Borderlands - Vincible, Craw is the worst thing in a video game ever, me my brother and cousin have come close a few times even having him down to like a fifth of his health heck even lower then that i believe, but when ever we get that close the next try we always instantly die upon getting up to him ( we refuse to use modded guns/shields and cheap tactics )

im guessing its 10 straight wins in ranked?, they had a 10 ranked win achievements in the original SFIV aswell i got to 9 and then someone quit out on me that i was destroying and when i found a new match i got whooped and never bothered to try again
suprised im the first one to say this but call of duty world at war veteran play through, some on here have got it they posted it in forums for the hardest acheivement they have. some of the missions werent bad but theres like 4 missions i just cant do . constantly being sprayed and blown up

I gave up too. Its not that there was so many it was that while searching for them in the kingdom you will be constantly chased by guards and no matter what they won'r go away.

ya, same xD No guys. Expert Realism (without the glitch). At least Expert with 3 other good human players is possible. I can't even get to a safehouse in Expert Realism.

Im pretty sure it doesnt have to be ranked. I got it in player matches with my mate.
there are a ton of online achievements that I dont think I'll get across different games, there was one for getting a whole lot of money online in army of two, but the lag and no host migration etc. made it impossible to finish just one match
I gave up on Halo 3's Two for One achievement. It tasked you with getting a double kill with a single spartan laser shot- IN FREE FOR ALL. This almost completely relied on luck, since the laser only traveled in a thin straight line, and how would you find two people in a perfectly straight line or vehicle in free for all?

The best way to get that is when a guy is trying to hijack a ghost, shoot the ghost and kill both. Takes timing but thats the best way besides luck.

Call of Duty 2 on veteran, cry. It's just the fact there's so many grenades, and A) you can't run, and B) you can't throw them back. So you end up looking stupid walking away from a grenade.
well i didnt give up on it for good but im taking a long break from the Mass Effect 2 insanity achievment. i made it all the way to the collector trap before i was just unable to do anything.

me and my sister got ours with gib fest. she did her by herself, then when gib fest was back again she helped me with mine.
Sadly I'm a perfectionist so I haven't really backed down from any achievements. I'm about to go for the flags and Templars in AC1, and I'm considering getting Ninja Gaiden 2 just so I can try to 100% it. Doubt I'll make it, but I'm going to try.

More than a few people have the achievement, though.
What kills me is that I unlocked this as a goal in Rock Band 3, but I never could when I had Lego Rock Band. I got it in practice, but when I played the song I always messed up. I now have an unfair hatred for "The Final Countdown".
For those who have not played it, Lost planet 2 has some seriously insane achievements, that are just not worth sinking hour and hours into the game to obtain.
Reaching the rank of General (the highest possible rank) on online mulitplayer for FEAR 2. one of the only remaining achievements i have for the game, but the multiplayer for FEAR has been dead since the release of the game, so there was barely an oppurtunity to get that rank online to begin with.
@ skarwolf, my previous girlfriend played oblivion more than i played any game on xbox/ps3
she was still skinny and beautiful. I still regularly took her out on dates. She was in college (though i did a good portion of her damn homework -_-)
so i can say that's not true. We both still had our lives and we had pretty high combined gamerscore
the "lone wolf" ones in halo 3, the AC1 flags ( i printed tons of maps and even used my wii and they cant be found) kill the pentagon theif in black ops. and the seriously 2.0 wasnt "hard" time consuming but not "hard"

This was probably one of the easiest achievements I got online. When this game first came out every once in a awhile you'd run into a group that would do an achievement run and everyone would take turns lining up and getting blasted with the laser. :P
I never really gave up on any achievement. I rarely ever start on a new game before finish a game. It just annoy me that I missing one or two achievement on a game. Also, not seeing that 100% on that game. The only time I really start on a new game if that game have easy achievements. One last thing is that I made another account just for the games I know that I can't get 100%
Portal 2: complete the entire co-op campaign and then finish the tutorial with someone who has never played before... That being said, if anyone has portal 2 and needs help on co-op I could help. *wink wink*
