Earlier, lighting came very close to my house as I was playing on Xbox Live with Gears of War and it turned off and it got a red light... I turned the 360 off but it was fine when I turned it back on... this was very unfortunate seeing as I don't remember anything ever going off withlightning in my house until I got a 360 last Christmas... just wondering will this mean it will mess up? or if it is fine now (since I restarted it) will it stay that way?...

power surges give you the 3 red lights, but most of the time they're not THE 3 red lights of death. I had mine (the one from launch) and was playing it meanwhile the idiots doing work on my house who cant read the switches on the fuse box tuned off the wrong switch and I got the 3 red lights but I was fine, and I think that happened one more time. Then like an idiot last year I was playing it during a thunderstorm and had it plugged right into the wall, but sure enough a power surge came and gave me the 3 red lights, turned it back on and it seemed okay but then went to hell in about 5 minutes.

moral of story, be safe don't play games while there is a thunderstorm.

Any kind of electorical disturbance will make it have 3 red lights. If you have it connected to a surge protector you can even go cut it off and on while the 360 is on and it will give the 360 3 red lights. So no it will not cause your 360 any harm so theres nothing to worry about.

It'll be fine. I got them2 months after I got my 360 during a thunderstorm. Just turned it off then back on and everything was fine. Until this past March when the real 3 lights came...DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN
