Router...what ports do I need to open..???

ok...i have a router, and i need to know what to open up on it. Cause like I can't host on Gears and I really want to be able to. I have a 100ft ethernet chord running from my router to my xbox. What do I need to do?

I agree, thats what I do on mine, and if your router supports it, it's probably the best solution. Basically it puts the device on whichever IP you specify (in this case, the X360) outside the NAT firewall, allowing it to connect properly to XBL. You just need to find wherever you can set a DMZ device in your router setup, and then find out what IP your X360 is being assigned (go to edit settings under the network settings on the X360 dashboard and it should tell you), then just set the DMZ to that IP address.

If you put your system in DMZ then it will open your computer to hacks since it puts it outside your firewall

or just call the router manufacturer and ask them which ports need to be open for XBL and theyll walk you through it
