With the inherent errors in 1/3 of the Xbox 360's, is it safe to buy one at the moment? Or is the problem still unsolved in the new ones? Is Microsoft ever considering fixing it?

No you should wait till like October or November, that is when I am getting my new one because i voided my warranty on this 360. And that is when the so called Falcon Chips should be put into the systems.

the elites seem to be doing fine. Like he said, wait though. The ones in the stores now will most likely die around 8-10 months.

I recommend you buy one at EB as from the latest news they had to send their consoles back to microsoft for it to get replaced by new ones so I am pretty sure the new consoles they received are better ones.

No. Don't buy one. You might get TB from it.

Just buy one., It has a 3 yr warranty from its most common problem :-P

I don't quite get your sentence, you said don't buy one now you say buy one with a 3 year warranty or something. Confusing..

ok, i'm sure you've already seen but like other people have said, you can just get one, and its got the warrentee for 3 years now, and i've had my 360 since x-mas and its doing just fine. and you may say nay, but my cousin got one the same time i did, experienced the 3 rings of death. called microsoft, problem solved, microsoft even payed for the shipping and sent him a brand new xbox, so you have no worrys

I think he was joking with the first line, like you get some kind of disease if you get a 360?
And the second line tells him just like to get it, and puts a : P afterwards.. Maybe?

Wow, some people are pathetic. Is it safe to buy this new bomb now, or will it explode in my face? Is it safe to buy this new shampoo, or will it cause my hair to fall out.

Don't beleive the "omg 9999999% of 360s are faulty" etc. Don't be a girl and buy one.

Like I've posted before even with this falcon chip there is no gurantee that the 360 won't still bust. Buying that machine is taking a huge risk. I was very postive before about how awesome the 65nm chip is gonna be, and how it's gonna fix all the problems the 360 is having. But as of recently I've pretty much given up the hope, sure there are alot of cool games coming out. But the 360 is a ticking time bomb and the chip will only delay the fuse for awhile longer. I don't want to throw away my $480 dollars down the toilet.

This really sucks guys and I'd pretty down about it, but it's not worth the risk.

If there is a future console after the 360 I sure hope Microsoft is taking notes. Cause this is a catastrophe that cannot be repeated again. They need to take notice of the original Xbox and build something reliable just like that system was.

I wish one of you guys could cheer me up or change my mind, but what can really be said. Because there is truth to the point I made about the falcon chip.

:(:( :(

They are putting new heat sinks in them now, If you buy one nowit's it's still not guaranteed to fail. There is no 100% failure rate. If you are worried about the ring of death it's covered for 4 years by MS (no charge to fix) and if it does go bad you get the new heatsink.

lol ur a funny one but you nothing about me man. Ive been through several 360's also.

I've had 2 of the 0'5 360's and those dont have any heatsinks at all on them and ofcourse they failed. I took the thing apart fixed it and sold it on ebay.

From their I bought the newer 0'6 version... in 3 months of light playing I got the 3 red lights after randomly turning the system on after 3 days of not playing... I took the thing apart and seen that they had the new microsoft heat sinks... (THAT DIDNT HELP DID IT MICROSOFT) so I fixed that one and sold it on ebay also.

Now I dont play xbox 360 but i make money fixing them permently. I've fixed 40 xbox 360's in the last 11 months and only 1 has failed... I know exactly what microsoft is doing wrong.

Dude even microsoft said that the 360 has a design defect and they are designed to fail dont be a suck up to microsoft man. The facts tell it all. Smart Azz.

If you want to discuss the rates of 360s breaking, please use the stickied thread. Thanks!
