Do you think SR 2 will be the main rival this year based on the previews on the game or do you think GTA 4 will smash SR 2 to bits?

Saints has the customisation and fun playability- GTA has the established brand and high expectations; it'll be a close one, but I'd say Saints has it on Gameplay, wheras GTA will probably have the better sound, voices and music.
We'll see, but for now, I'm rooting for the foul mouthed underdog, SR2.
Saints Row is garbage compared to the GTA franchise. Like comparing a Honda with a Lambo...Aaron89
Well in this instance, it'll be like comparing the Honda NSX to a Lambo Gallardo.....
Both great cars, both fun to drive, in the end it'll come down to preference, do you want clinical precision,(GTA4) or crazy fun? (NSX)
NB: I am not saying GTA is technically a great game, I'm saying that it is technically superior to SR.
Yes, SR is a knock off but it should be just as good in its own right.... Hope they are both great games this yearDo you think SR 2 will be the main rival this year based on the previews on the game or do you think GTA 4 will smash SR 2 to bits?

Nope, haha GTA4 is just too well recognized and will most definitely have better voice acting and story telling, not that SR2 won't be good... just the GTA series production values are through the roof.
Saints row success was do to it was the only next gen gta sandbox type game you could get. I will say it did some things better then gta. the only problem is it had some story you could care less about, you are some generic character with no sole. It had custom characters witch was cool. Now that gta will be out this game will suffer in sales, most of the games sales will be from second time buyers in my opnion that really liked the 1st game. I really don't think the people that didn't get it the first time will buy it, they will just get gta. I thing gta will smash this game and saints row 2 will be the last in the series, unless they do some major changes to differ it from gta. the best chance SR2 has is to release it when we are ready for gta5 lol, just before gta5 gets delayed unleash SR2 it will sell well then.
i dont think sts row will die off after number 2, i think they going to cain it and i doubt its going to be that bad. i liked the first one thought it was a decent game. see where people think gta iv would kill it off i beg to differ as these sandbox games aint that common and someone who really likes them will probaly buy both gta iv then sts row 2 when it comes out months later. if you like the game type then both offer decent gameplay. sts row dont need to be that different from gta iv to suceed it can be very similar with its own twists and features like the first was and still be fun and a good game for alot of people. if ya dont like sandbox games then both going to be **** but if ya sorta person that plays all way thought gta iv till the end not the sorta person that buys it and uses the cheats and has a mess about, then ya will like both games. usually i find with gta style games, alot of people buy them for the name and they love messing about playing causing trouble but they dont like actualy playing the game and never get close to finishing it. sts row is more for people who love gta and make sure they finish the game and still want more but cant wait ages for the next gta installment. theys a clear lack of quality games in this format thats why most the good ones still do well. sts row wont die after this one thats just daft considering how well the first one sold and thats easily beaten since it wasnt really making much use out of the 360 at the time im looking out for just cause 2 as well, loved the first apart from the long walks but reckon the 2nd be a nice improovement, i loved some of the grpahics on the sceneary as well some mint views mid parachute when looking backSaints row success was do to it was the only next gen gta sandbox type game you could get. I personally would rather play thru Saints Row than GTA... dont get me wrong I think GTA4 is gonna be awesome and probably even better then SR2 in most aspects of the game, but SR does it for me and i have my reasons...
I have personally never finished a GTA game... nothing against the game of even the story but it has alot of missions that just cause me to lose interest in trying to finish the game(especially any RC mission that seems to pop up in every GTA) and I, like alot of others, just end up playing it just to cause as much mayhem as possible.. The missions in SR (although some are repititive and thoughtless) are pretty straight forward and alot less irritating. The story isnt as compelling as the GTA story but is better then most of you are saying. Also I read something about GTA having better voice acting? Are you saying that the Hollywood voice overs were bad, because I honestly disagree. and lastly look how many installments and years have been put into GTA to get where it is now.. where SR is working on its 2nd and is a credible competitor.. SR deserves alot more respect then its getting and with more entries in the series it will gain it
