Ok yeah yeah I know Satellite internet is "bad for gaming".  But has anyone tried playing any games at all that played successfully?  I cant get DSL or Cable so Satellite is my only choice, any help is apprecited!

There was another person a few weeks ago with only Satellite access and I think the consensus was that it was just not fast enough for XBL. Too much lag..you might be SOL in this case..

L-l-l-l-l-l-a-a-a-a-a-a-g!!! The signal has to go up to the satelite and then back down to you... I doubt you could even get anything remotely close to being playable.

satalite typically has a 15 second delay,  so for live action you would be shooting at where people were 15 seconds ago,  or driving where the road was 15 seconds ago.  it's fine for surfing the web,  message boards etc...   and just as fast except 15 seconds behind.   it would be good for silver (downloading demos etc...) but gold would be a waste.

lol..... ohhhh.... i have satellite.... and my speed is inbetween dsl and broadband.... so it's pretty fast... i can play xbl with very little lag... but on the other hand i dont think i have "true" satellite because our dish is kinda like a pole with a deflector... but facing the wrong way and i live in the middle of a metro area of about 4 million ppl so i assume its different... anyway for gaming its pretty good very rarely do i lag

yes you can get demos,  and it'll download just as fast,  it's just 15 seconds behind.  the free live silver can be sued,  you'll just lag in chat.  but if you are in a remote area demos could be a great time filler between trips to the game store.

I had wild blue for a while when I lived in the boonies. Latency was anywhere from 1.5 seconds to 20 seconds. It was usually ok for playing MMORPGs, but I would never play anything on it that requires quick reactions.

Don't get it, my friend has it and it's horrible. Takes forever to load videos and do anything on the internet. And xbox live is slow for him.

Cox high speed is one of the best you can go.
