So i have not had a full working Xbox in almost 2 years, and even before that i never had the money for games on a regular basis, so i mostly played games like Madden that i could be wrapped up in for months. I just got an Xbox and have been looking for a few series to play. I am playing the Mass Effect series right now in anticipation of 3, and the Arkham games. Anybody got any suggestions, the 2 i have been thinking about are Assisans Creed and Darksiders, i like the idea of AS but IDK if i will have the time to play 4 games to catch up.

Assassin's Creed is good but skip the first game. Start at Assassin's Creed II.

Also, pickup Skyrim. It's good.

Other than that I'd suggest Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Both are very good games.

The only thing I can add to that is youtube the storyline of Assassin's Creed. It's worth watching. Also, play the multiplayer mode in Assassin's Creed : Brotherhood. It doesn't make getting into a game very easy, but once you're in it's the single most interesting vs multiplayer game ever. Otherwise, play the Arkham games asap. And Just Cause 2 if you like open world action games.

If you want to play a decent X-men/marvel game try Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. It's much better than X-Men: Destiny.

Ignore the people saying skip the 1st AC it has a lot of story attached to it and introduces a lot of the main features in the series. Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Anyway:

Battlefield

Call of Juarez

Far Cry

Just Cause

Fallout

GTA and Resident Evil for action-adventure.

Elder Scrolls iv and v good RPG series.

TC's Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six Vegas series for tactical play.

Forza

NFS

There are a large amount of series worth the play through hunt around a bit on Gamespot.

Dead Space 1 & 2 are great if you're a horror fan. I'm also very keen on BioShock and its sequel; you could buy those in anticipation for the third! You should also give consideration into Fable 2 & 3.

I'm playing Arkham City right now myself ;) Judging from your post, you probably haven't played the Gears of War series. I really, really recommend this series!! :D An obvious one is Call of Duty. But keep in mind, I am not just saying that because it's the biggest game out there right now. I first "fell in love" with CoD when the original came out on the PC, so that's why I personally love CoD so much. But I would recommend 2, 3 and Classic the most (Classic is on XBLA, by the way). Also the first MW is awesome. They're all great, but they're my favourites (although need to get a bit more time in with MW3, but that's not possible at the minute with the disc read error :(). I also love the Tomb Raider series (although the PS1 era ones are the best ones, but the new ones are still great fun) Oh, and the Saints Row series :D. #1 isn't anything amazing, but it's still fun. The real fun lies in 2 and The Third. The Third is perhaps my favourite, although 2 probably has better choices for clothes and the city though. I miss places like the Mall from SR2.

I thought it looked way over the top too, but really, it's great that it is like that! Might sound unbelieveable, but really :). If/when you play it you would more than likely realise that over the top is awesome once in a while. I think SR3 does it perfectly :).

I see you said you were looking into Assassin's Creed. Try that franchise. 4 games are out on that story, so I think that will fill quite a bit of time for you. It also doesn't hurt that AC is an awesome series.
