So, I was playing Fallout 3 earlier today. I'm level 18, and on the last main storyline quest, but I decided to explore and level up a little more, because I hear the game ends after you finish the last one. So, I'm in the middle of exploration, I just left the Oasis, and I was cruising around looking for trouble, but I needed to leave and saved my game. I only have two save files: the autosave and a single "In Case I Don't Get Out of this Alive" save.Â
I just got back home, and loaded my "In Case..." file, and for some reason, I'm in a rock. Somehow it replaced me just a little under the game's geography. But I can't jump out. I hit my head on the "roof" of the rock, and I can't run out, because the rock sides. I even tried stupid stuff like shooting a missile at my feet or dropping a grenade to see if I can blast myself back into the game's normal geometry. No luck. So, I think, "That sucks. Looks like I have to use the auto save file and start over back when I left the Oasis." I load the autosave, but for some reason, it sinks me into the dirt. It's like I'm wading through the path, only it's really choppy because the camera doesn't know where it should be, so it's kind of sickening. But I tried running around to somehow unlodge myself, and I can't do it.
And now, halfway through my post, I just tried reloading both files, and there was no luck on the first save, but I reloaded the autosave, and now, suddenly it works. Until just this moment, I was terrified that 30-50 hours just went down the toilet.
Any other weird bugs you've experienced? Funny or exasperating? Â
