Does the plug from the xbox have to be right in the outlet or can it be plugged into an extension cord? I thought i read somewhere that it had to be in the wall but im not certain.
it says in the manuel to directly put it into a socket,it may over haet and causeproblems because the power brick uses alot of watts,so i wouldnt do that ....
Extension cords are fine, they're just extensions of the plug, just make sure the cord has an adequate current rating (15 Amps or more). Power strips are ok as long as you're sharing with low-power devices. I'm not sure I would plug it into a strip with another pc and/or some decent powered speakers, you don't wanna draw too much current through the strip. I have mine on a power strip with a usb hub, a printer, and an lcd monitor and it's fine.
