So considering this game has no offline component, I was really hoping for a $50 price tag, or even $40.  Well, even though the game is amazing (I played in the beta) I worry that it won't catch on because people will view it as overpriced.  What about you?  Do you think $60 is too much for an online only game like this?

I think that is WAY too much.  Single player is why I buy games, multiplayer is just incentive so I'll save my money for something worthwhile thanks.

Is it $60 for PC too?  But yeah, games today are slighty over price IMO.  Just aslong the game delivers and have a great replay value, then I guess it's worth that price.  Hopefully future downloadable content for Shadowrun will be free though!

I am not trying to be particular here, just asking because it would definitely suck if not true, but I thought it had an offline component just not a campaign/story mode type. I thought it had some sort of offline "tranining" portion to it?

I played the beta and it did have an offline training mode and I was able to play with bots.  I didn't get a chance to play online, I have Silver right now.

Some XBL gamers can be very good at ruining the games community and exploiting game glitches.  So no SP at $60 = gamefly rental for me.

Sweet deal. Yea I thought I had read something along those lines in the past and so if they had gotten rid of that as well, it would have been even worse. Did you enjoy the beta? I dropped the ball and completely forgot to sign up for the beta and with the Halo 3 beta and Forza coming out around the sametime I am leaning toward skipping this game. Thanks for the response btw.

It sucks that that first party pricing died with kameo and PD0. I guess MS relized the first party games are some of the best and highest selling games.

I have the beta and I don't think it is worth $60, especially if there is no offline component, $50 would be fair, but a good price for it would be $40

Yeah I forgot about that bots practice mode.  It's a great way to experiment with different combinations of abilities before going online, but it's not a story or anything like that.

If Shadowrun is successful, FASA said the next iteration in the franchise will be an RPG, and man oh man that would be amazing.  I really want this game to succeed... I love the Shadowrun universe and would love to get a proper next gen RPG.

I don't care about single player that much anyways. I would only play single palyer if:
A) The game is only single player(Oblivion, Kameo, Spiderman)
B) I wanted the achievements

Multiplayer is the most fun and this game should be very good. I'm looking forward to it and wasn't expecting it to be lower than $60 (If it would have been lower I would have been pleasantly surprised) So I can deal with it being $60, seems like a normal price of any game.

Yeah setting the price to $40 would have all but gauranteed my purchase, $50 would have put me on the fence, but now at $60 really rethinking if I am going to pick it up or not. Also, was there ever any details about how the game would stay (or try to stay) balanced between computer and console players? Will us consolers have a chance against the good ol' keyboard and mouse?

Yeah... we'll have autoaim and they won't, and they spent a ton of time balancing the game for cross platform play.  If you're worried about the PC players accuracy, just get wired reflexes, smoke, or one of the other abilities and you'll be running circles around them.

Hah. Sounds crazy. Good to hear that they took the time to balance things out. Thanks for the info donalbane.

Why should it cost less than $60? Should games that don't have a multiplayer component be less? The game was designed from the start to be multiplayer only. As long as it offers some deep gameplay, whether the game is single player or multiplayer shouldn't matter. It is the quality that matters.

I'm sorry, but that's simply ridiculous. While the game is probably great, it's a first-party title with no singleplayer mode, and an average amount of available maps (8-10). It should at least be $50.

Hey man, I agree completely.  But I was hoping it would be $50 so people would be encouraged to pick it up.  It's an amazing game, I know that already, but I feel like a lot of people are on the fence.

60 bucks is a bit much. I knew all along this was going to be the case, MS was just keeping hush about it. You can play offline with bots though.
