Shivering Isles is online only and that's a bummer

for those of you who dont have xbox live or broadband....this isn't really fair since oblivion is an OFF-LINE game to begin with. i can't understand why it would be availible for pc in store but not for the 360.

 While it's obvious you need a high-speed connection to download the expansion pack, you also need to be connected to Xbox Live in order to play Shivering Isles.

MS is requiring you to be ON-LINE when you play the expansion pack shivering isle. this is the worst thing they ever done to just simply pisz ppl off.

My guess is you only need Silver, which is free, and being online is perhaps part of the copy protection as it is with XBLA games. Although with XBLA you online have to be online if the download isn't on the same hardware ID so are you sure you have to be online while playing in all cases?

Yes, I suppose it stinks if you don't have broadband.

E-distribution is the wave of the future, ladies & gents. Sure, I would prefer a hard copy of the game, but right now I'm just glad my console has a game that's as good as the PC version and actually GETS the expansion. Developers usually rape RPGs porting the titles over to consoles (Baldur's Gate anyone?).

He didn't read it anywhere, because he's playing the problem.  I hate how this is going down.  I don't want to have to be online while I play my games!  This locked content crap is bull.  I can do all the other download content without all the patches and stuff, but I can't do Shivering Isles????:(

I just tried to play oblivion and with xbl down it wont even load up mehunes razor or even the horse armor pack..it says some game conten won't be able to load up so if you continue some items will be missing ...or something like that..so YES you do need to be on xbl to use ANY expansion not just Shimmering Isles!

Uhhh....wrong...after Xbox Live went down last night, I put Oblivion in and I had no problem playing Shivering Isles. It loaded up just fine.
