Buying a 360 solely for kinect or because of kinect really isn't worth it, because few kinect games are good. I'd still recommend buying the console, just not for kinect.
I really don't know what to tell you. I like a few of the perks it gives in some of the games like Mass Effect 3, but as far as actual Kinect games there are only a very few that I play. Kinect Adventures if I'm bored, Dance Central 2, Wreckateer, and Gunstringer. Hopefully Fable: The Journey is good and this new Harry Potter Kinect game thats coming out will be good. Ryse from Crytek will be coming eventually which also looks like it has potential.
Absolutely not. Go play it at a game store or a friend's house to try it out. You'll get as much fun in that amount of time as I have with mine since I've owned it. Which is about 8 months.
Not worth it. Best to wait until the next gen. Only time I ever use mine is for voice commands to watch videos. Even then there are some things you still need to get your controller for. Unless you really want to play dance games or want the voice command feature, save your money for now.
If you enjoy some Wii Sports like games with friends from time to time: It's great! If you want to play some cool "hardcore" games there is not much apart from Gunstringer and Child of Eden in my opinion.
From what I have seen it mostly caters to casual gamers if you plan to play it alot you'd probably find it not worth it. It mainly adds small features to games such as Forza 4, Halo Anniversary, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Mass Effect 3 and Fable The Journey. I honestly haven't seen many games that make it purchase worthy still waiting for something that isn't Rise of Nightmares or Kinect Sports.

agreed, i hunted my 250 gig non kinect 360 since the best functions kinect aren't really motion game related
