I'm all for digital distribution on the portables, after all carrying umds or cartridges isn't portable. But no Dics!?! Discs are Beast.

that is all.

I enjoy DD on PC, but for consoles its kinda MEH. As Hardrives are way more expensive then they are on PC's (also MUCH MUCH smaller in size).

I think DD could work on PS4 or Xbox720 in the future, IF they make all the consoles come with 500GB hardrives inside (like most computers do now).

imagine the a triple A release is coming out, you wait till midnight to download , then because of you sucky internet, you have to wait another 10 hours to play the game. Compare that to going to the store, buying the game and having it in hand, opening it, and instantly playing it. Then you also have the option of selling the game if you don't like it.

Signs. I want to have the actual case because I enjoy looking at my games. I can't read the manual in my room nor look at the box art.. Not to mention say goodbye to great deals online..

sign, only thing that is good is on the PC. consoles can't write CD's but with steam u can so if u think that the game will expire from stop making u can just write it onto a disc so the game will be there. the hard drive on consoles aren't as great as PC ones. they are cheaper also.

I sign as well, its good for some games but not all games, and it takes forever just to download one game, it would be better to put the games on disc, I love reading the manuals and looking at the great boxart, Digital Distribution would be alright on Portables though, seeing as carrying a bunch of games around is not exactly portable.

well you will have that option also so whats the problem? they just offering extra options to buy, not removing option to buy on disc. how can offering alternatives be a bad thing. if you read what games as well its all old games that they can sell cheaper now like bioshock and assins creed.

I want physical discs, something tangible because I can go ahead and lend it to my friends, or sell it back, or do what ever. DD is convient, but that's about it.

DD isn't practical for all the people that only have the 20GB harddrive. As it is we only really have space to have 1 game installed from disc at a time and still have enough space for everyday use for getting demos, trailers and videos. If I wanted to play a DD game I would first have to clear space, set it to download (which would take hours on my connection) and maybe get round to playing it the next day. DD wipes out the second hand market. If I pay full price for a new boxed game and don't like it I can trade it in or sell it. If I get it DD I am stuck with it - no refunds, no selling it to a friend. Then you have the DRM - this is bound to cause problems. Just like with XBLA games when you get a new console you have to go through the DRM licence transfer tool just to be able to play the games you bought. DD isn't practical if you want to play on a friends console to show them the game, again you'd have to sit for a few hours while it downloads. I'd much rather stick with discs that I can see on my shelf when I decide what I want to play.

I don't see whats wrong with it. I especially don't see how it would be okay for handheld but not consoles. Besides some games are just so small that putting them on a DVD and putting them out on retail seems like going a bit far and some times could drive up the cost.

*does not sign*

i rather have both as an option

i dont see the downfall of having the option to download a game digitally so i can play any given title without having to switch disks, and you cant lose or scratch em either
