[QUOTE="EnigmaticBeauty"][QUOTE="StupidHenchman"][QUOTE="EnigmaticBeauty"][QUOTE="Scarface_tm431"][QUOTE="EnigmaticBeauty"]What disturbs me most is why they use the word rape. Do they even know what that means? If not, they should pick up a dictionary and read the meaning of the word. I would boot anyone who uses that word. StupidHenchman
Well pretty much it's just a metaphor because when someones getting raped most the time they're totally under the control of whoever's raping them. I trashtalk my friends when I play with them but on XBL I try not to, sometimes I will if someones being a real dick to me/friends though
Metaphore or not, it's not the right terminology. It is one of the most deplorable and evil acts a person can do and shouldn't be used in a videogame, and what's even more sickning is, you have children as young as 8 or 9 using that word.
Dont blame those kids...blame the parents.I'm not blaming the kids, I do blame the parents for their kids behavior and I blame Microsoft and Sony for not educating the parents.
Why should Microsoft and Sony educate the parents. They should know going in that when their kid is playing online with thousands of people that they are bound to pick up a few new words, phrases, or meanings to words. Im sick and tired of parents and people in general blaming companies for not 'letting them know' that this behavior might occur while their children play a video game online. Its common sense.Because parents often have no idea what it is they're buying for the child. Microsoft and Sony don't have TV adverts promoting their parental guidence, no seperate booklet to explain the benefits of having a system that moderates the games they play.
There are a dozen and one things Microsoft can do to make Xbox Live safer, they can limit the child accounts to socialize with other child accounts, i.e children play with children and Child accounts must be set up by an adult with some form of identification such as a social security number or passport number, something that proves that the adult setting it up is indeed setting it up for a child and not for him/herself.
I'm 22, if I had a choice of who to play against, would I want to play against a bunch of 10 year olds? Hell no, because our mentalities are so very different. A 10 year old wants to win win win and have everything his/her own way, whereas an adult is more adaptive, diplomatic and open minded.
