i myself haven't, i find the idea an absolute joke, overpriced games (some at over double from what u could get them for pre-owned) games you can't re-sell, games which take up a ludicrous amount of space on your hard drive etc etc. I feel this is a huge money making scheme from MS.

its a weak scheme. I liked the idea but i thought it would be more recent games.

Im gonna buy a disc of an old game cause chances are i wont play it for ever...and then theres that time where you wanna play your old games so you have that available. If its on myhard drive and i stop playing ill end up deleting it. Then when i wanna replay ill be f*****

And a manual. The only way they'd get me to buy a game from the GoD is by making them 10$ or less.

You can download the manual as a .pdf file. If you look at the additional details on the game, it has a link for the manuals. I'm not sure if it's actually a download, or just an online PDF file. I don't know what to make of the Games on Demand service. It has a few good points, and a few bad points. It's expensive, and the games aren't new. But, you're guaranteed a copy of the game, at least. Plus, some of the games on there I can't find at any local shops.

lol its so funny how they think we're gonna pay for games which we could pick up possibly for 10-15 and resell for perhaps £5, making a loss of £5-£10 whilst GoD gives you a loss immediatley of £20 without any chance to resell. Nice one MS (Y)

True that you can download the manual. Well all the games listed there (360) can be found easily. I usually buy my games from Amazon.ca and they always have everything, at very good prices. Bioshock for example shouldn't be more than 10$. I can buy that game new for 15$. It just doesn't make sense to have a digital copy cost more than a hard copy.

My Halo Edition only came with a 20gb HDD, and I can't update it (seriously, there's no other size of orange HDD available, and quite frankly, the silver one looks idiotic with the halo edition console), so I lack the HDD space necessary to partake in the service.

Yeah GoD is a freaking joke. I mean to jack up the price on the games is BS and to ripoff there loyal XBOX customers. well i guess there isnt Bill Gates and MS wont do for more freaking money.

Oh no! A bussines trying to make money? How dare they!

It's depressing reading all these threads and posts from kids who think they are for some reason entitled to free or cheap games. Games on demand is not a rip off because there is nothing forcing you to use it. Like you all like to keep pointing out you can buy a physical copy of the game if you wish. If not then you pay the price for conviniance. Hate to tell you kids but computer games are aimed and marketed at young MEN not boys. That means guys over 21 because we have jobs and disposable income. You kiddies don't even have an income unless you count pocket money.

So for the love of god stop with the constant whiney threads.

of course, i always knew lego star wars tcs, viva pinata were aimed at men, how very foolish of me, the avatars as well must have been designed for men as men like these childish basic, cute little characters. Microsofts recent attempts to attract families and younger gamers must also, been some wise sratedgy to win over even more 17-20ish gamers, as of course xbox live has no younger gamers online! young men such as myself of course have hundreds to spend on these games with us earning 6 figure salaries at universitites and colleges, even after bills have been paid. Sorry i don't know what came over me when i made this topic, after all everybody does have easy access to buy pre-owned games for cheap.I don't see where in my artcile i put i should be entitled to cheap/free games for 'added convienice.' If people really can't be botheredto purchase games from stores, the internet allows convienience. I'm not concerned aboutMS making money, its good as it creates jobs helps the economy etc etc, however things like this really annoy me. MS will neverrecoup the money they spent on this project through GoD.(the least they could do is sell the GoD for similar prices to what normal games stores price them at).

The existence of GoD doesn't bother me... I will never use it myself.

It's a bit strange that Microsoft have set the prices so high, but I guess they've just accepted that most people prefer a hard copy and are targetting the service at those few willing to pay a premium to avoid travel / waiting. It's also been suggested that the prices may go down over time.

The only worry I have is that this may be where the games industry is heading; purely digital games...

I use Steam without fear (often really good deals), but I like to have the choice. I don't want to lose the option of trading-in finished games or the benefit of retailer discounts.

I don't mind paying $20 for a game if I can't find it anywhere. and seeing as how I don't have a debit card, getting games is more difficult for me.

No I don't know what came over you when you made this topic either. It's just a great big whine about nothing. If you can buy the games cheaper elsewhere then why on earth do you care about the pricing of GoD? And if you think GoD won't make Microsoft money you're a moron. Look at Steam. Pretty much every new release on Steam is more expensive than on Amazon or countless other websites yet Steam is still a massive success and rakes in money. The prices for GoD will more than likely come down as the library of games gets larger.

Oh and by the way if you're going to give an example of a kids game to make me look foolish you might want to do better than Lego Star Wars a game that couldn't be more obviously marketed at the nostalgic late 20's to mid 30's man.

good: games that are hard to find is easily avalible, especially in my country where most great games like oblivion IS a rarity and lame/bad games are an abundant.

bad: yes... you guessed it pricing, some games are better off been used for cheaper pricing and have pysical copy if my xbox RROD again

games on demand is great for people who live far from a place where they would sell games, my grandparents, for example, live at about 5000 feet elevation and have to drive 30 mins to get groceries

for me however i would rather walk for about 5 mins to gamestop and save some money

I would only buy a GoD if the games were cheaper by like $10 or more dollars. I mean if i went out and bought Mass Effect on disk then i could take it to gamestop or some other used game store and sell it for like $6 (or some other ripoff price) and then it is cheaper already then GoD.... Really i would just much rather own the game disc, case, and manual because they just seem more valuable. They have the ability to resell. If i sell my system i can still have them (even thought i wouldn't keep them) and the fact that i would rather not give $20 to Microsoft, but rather to places like Newegg.com or Amazon.com.

Plus Amazon.com gives me a good chuckle with some of their prices. Need for Speed Most Wanted is $64.... so great. Of course i know a game doesn't actually cost that much so i don't buy them, but it still makes me laugh.

Of course when you made this post you didn't think about anything other people than americans. I mean the nearest shop from my house is about 10 miles away and on my country there isn't anything like amazon.com so for me GoD is pretty good, i can just buy those games from my couch for a reasonable price.

I think its a good idea tbh, It sucks that it dosnt have every 360 game on there because if it did have every game it would be truly awsome :)

I mean imagin if they started puting on new games the day they come out, no more going out and queing up you could just download and play

Alot of people dont live by a place they could sell a game sothis is good for them. Its better than getting it by mail cause you get to play it alot faster.
