Yeah, its certainly a mark of originality over GTA and SR, but the biggest shame (and in fact, imo, the only flaw in this marvelous sandbox) is the fact that the story SOLELY revolves around grinding down gang bosses. No intricate plots or backstabbing triads - its go here, kill him/her, get dossier on next target, kill them, dossier again, kill again - It would have been much better if the 21 gang bosses were integrated into a story and the world was much bigger.

Oh well, It was fun as hell when it lasted... plus we still have Halo 3 beta we can still play later on
Ya i agree with the other poster it was worth it for the beta. The islands are to small, and you can beat the whole game in 2-3 days. What kinda mad eme angry though, was the amount of water around the islands. I was swimming for 8-10 minutes straight before i finally hit the dead end, when I can run across an island in 10 minutes as well.
