Solo or Squad Games

Which do you prefer solo character games or ones with squads/groups?

for example solo games: such as tomb raider, assassins creed and other games where it is just the one character

or

for example squad/group games: gow, cod, l4d and other games like this where you are in a squad and have other members on you team (not just shooters any genre, just used them for example)

Personally i like squad based games cause i like the interaction with the other members of the team and watching them in the gameplay mostly in COD. i love having other members there and watching them actually do things in the game. i like solo games to cause to me AC was amazing, but if i had to choose id take squad games

I completely agree. Solo is awesome but sometimes it just feels like a lonely adventure. I enjoy games where you can interact with your teammates that's why i like rpgs so much. KOTOR is what really shaped that for me.

by squad based games i thought you meant games like ghost recon and las vegas. I can't stand those. COD4 isnt really a squad game because you do play solo in that you dont hve to order the AI around. But i dont mind if a game is solo like bioshock say, or there are others with you, like COD4, as long as you dont have to order them around.

I also love games where you can do the campaign in co-op mode like gears 1 + 2 and halo 3.

Well if you ever play a game with me ill do my best to betray you, i cannot stand the solo noobs, shooters should all be team games from now.

Hell, why stop there. Let's make all shooters multiplayer-only, team-based, c|ass-based, scifi-sty|e, single-elimination CTF matches only in the "Facing Worlds" map and based off the Aliens Vs. Predator franchise. No other types of shooters will be allowed. Why have variety, when you can...not have variety.

On another note, had you considered this: If you remove all free-for-all modes, then there will be no outlet for people who like that sort of gameplay, bringing even more "solo noobs" to infest your team-based games.

Depends.....i like both but mostly enjoy squad games but sometimes when you're playing with complete strangers they can ruin the experience specially if they just rush off on their own instead or working for the team...

I dont really care, I can like a very good squad game just as much as good solo campaign.

One thing I do like about Squad games is that it sometimes has fun conversations going around. Like in GOW2, those little Carmine Jokes and stuff like that.

i like both types, but overall i prefer squad based games. i personally like being able to give the AI orders (as long as its half decent) as you get the feel of being a leader rather than having to do everything yourself.

squad based games are even better when the AI characters have great personality - like COD4. that just made the ending even more emotive. GRAW on the other hand did not have much character as far as AI squaddies went
