I just received a very swank looking black envelope (it even had my name and Kotaku written in silver foil) in the mail. Inside was this very stark invitation. On the back? A time, date and a location during E3 and the Playstation logo. Obviously, this has got to be for Killzone PS3, but what is it? It's got to be a hands-on for Killzone PS3? Right? I mean SCEA did already say at Gamer's Day that Killzone for the PS3 would be shown at this year's E3. Oh, and it's two and a half hours long. Brian Crecente"

Looks like it's do or die. We've no idea what Halo 3 (single player) will look like. We have no idea what Killzone will look like. Neither Sony nor Microsoft know what the other wil llook like. Yet both are being unvieled on the same day (Tuesday July 10).

I really don't get why sony is trying with another FPS. The original playstation was built off of platformers and rpgs, which they still have a great multitude of, the PS1 or PS2 was never known for FPS games, thus their fanbase weren't big fans of the genre, and Japan couldn't care less about an FPS. Meanwhile you have the xbox which was pretty much built off FPS and other Shooters. So you have a machine and company not known for FPS games trying to upstage the number 1 console FPS

lots of people, I sure do. My family want a blue ray player and the PS3 is our best bet. The better the games(for any console) the better. god forbid Sony puts out a First party AAA game.

Why would I care if Killzone 2 shares info before or after Halo 3? Unless some freak accident happens Bungie already sold me Halo 3. Halo 2 sold well while Half Life 2 was shown off and that game was FAR more anticipated then Killzone 2.

can't hurt to be the jack of all trades though. and with America becoming the most important market for gaming and the FPS genre being one of the favorites for that market... it's smart for Sony to be banking in on this potential area.

The first Killzone was deemed "Halo Killer" by their developers. It was quite laughable as it only provided PS2 with a mediocre FPS and was hardly a threat to the Halo franchise.

Now they're trying to go against Halo 3 with an unproven franchise? Gimme a break, it'll only kill their own game.

it doesn't really matter both series have there group of fans and i don't think anything can hurt Halo at this point but killzone might still a lil bit of the shine but i doubt it..no worries

I'm really looking forward to see how Killzone 2 has turned out. I've only played one FPS on my PS3, RFOM, and it's awesome.

Before I playedResistance I honestly thought I'd hate it. Goes to show that you can't form an opinion until you've played the game. Most of you should remember that next time you talk about Killzone 2. Fanboyism isn't cool.

Even the developers of Halo 2 don't like it. The SP was ok, with a horrible ending. Halo 3 beta blew. It tries to be a high rez Halo 2 with 16 players which is even more pathetic since we pay for Live. I can get 64 players lag free on PC for FREE. Halo 1 was awesome though. Hope the SP owns on 3. Killzone doesn't excite me though.Just give me Haze.
