I got Soul Calibur 4, love it, but i have some questions about character creation, How do you get the different skills points to be able to use different skills. Also how do you create your own character, not customizing a character but creating a totally new one.

Ok, to create a new char from scratch, you have to chose to "customize" the "edited character" slot. It's in the middle of the char selection screen, to the right of Siegfried. It's an slot that contains more slots inside for custom-made characters (so to do that you'll have to enter the edit-mode as well, even if you're gonna be creating instead of editing). The skill points will change according to the piece of armor/clothing you equip the char.

Just use the character that you want to get skill points for and they'll level up. Stick with the character that you want the skills for and it won't take long to level them.

skill points come from aquirable gear. Just switch through your gear and watch the little stats in the corner, i don't remember specifically as i haven't played it in awhile, but its like gauge special something something etc As one goes up others may go down, after you go through which gear gives what, go back to the skill select thing, choose what skill you want and if you don't have the skill points the little stat thing will be like 105/15 gauge now just go back through your gear until you find gear that gives you the required stat its really complicated at first, but you'll get the hang of it.
