[QUOTE="stygiansanity"]it's a nice update, I guess.Thorpe89
No, it's just nice. There is nothing brilliant there. A separate blade is not a big deal for marketplace, detailed achievement notices are nice, and messenger integration is cool i guess but no one will use it unless they have a wireless keyboard.
What would be brilliant is if they told us there was more than just this stuff coming. Anyone else wondering if they will support more video formats?Â

You can't change my opinion. I think messenger intergration is brilliant. I second that, if a web borwser was added, i wouldnt never have to use my computer again.Its far from great. So wow, WLM, i use my computer for that. XLM Blade that changes colors...woopie! I wanted new resolutions like 1440x900 so my circles arent ovals, I wanted full clan support, I wanted 4 person private chat, this update has everything the general public didn't want and most dont need. Very dissappointed.Seemore10
There will be another update later on in the year, maybe some of the features we actually want such as four person chat may be incorporated into the dashboard, Personally I dont think putting MSN Messenger into the 360 is of any use, if i'm watching a movie, thats exactly what i'm doing, watching a movie, I don't want to be chatting on MSN, plus typing with the 360 controller is completley useless, this is just my opinion though.

Agreed, I just think they should add more new features in one update instead of just two and keep us waiting for what we want and what should have been included with the 360 from day 1.Its far from great. Very dissappointed.Seemore10I second that. It wouldn't be any difficulty from them to put 1440x900 and 1680x1050 resolutions in, since no matter what resolution you're running it, it's scaled from a constant resolution. It would actually take fewer system resources than 1920x1080 does. Aspect ratios are another problem though, but there are a number of ways to do that. It wouldn't impact much if they were to cut a small sliver off the left and right sides of the frame to make it "taller" in terms of height to width ratio.
This update is just dumb. I'll have to download it and i probably wont use anything that's added. I was really looking forwrad to deleting my arcade trials, but i guess that is *t00* good of a feature.Â
I mean who wants to play in a clan and have clan support, ssshhh, i mean i don't. I love playing with random (mostly 12 year old) kids on gears and having them all quit out on me in 2 seconds.Â
Did anyone notice that GameSpot had a video detailing the new features of the dashboard? Can't find it on GameSpot now but it had Windows Live Messenger intergration and downloads in low-power mode. Still doesn't get rid of those arcade game trials on your gamercard though. :(Thorpe89sweet, thanks for the info
Wow, what a lame update. WLM sucks too... can't believe anybody uses that when there's so many better pieces of software available.Generic_DudeLike what, AIM :lol:

You can't change my opinion. I think messenger intergration is brilliant. Why not just use your computer? It's going to take awhile to type all that out with the controller. Plus a clan blade would have been nice, or more people in a private chat.You know...
Some of these new features are going to be very nice to have. The Live Messenger Service..I feel that it is only going to be useful to people if they have a wireless keyboard. I personally would not buy a wireless keyboard for using MSN because that is why there is thing's called computers. I like to detailed achievements tho, and the new blade for the Marketplace..but I give my respect to Microsoft for trying really hard to get these updates out and doing a great job at the same time.
Cheers :)

....People actually use Live Messenger? ..Wow.Windows Live Messenger is one of the most common, if not most used IM clients in the world. :?
Marketplace blade and detailed achievements is nice. I never expect anything from these updates so they never wind up disappointing me, although I wish the people clamoring for a web browser would get their heads out of the clouds. There's absolutely no reason for an inferior console-based browser when the PCs they use to come here and complain about no console browser have way more practical uses for web surfing.ClandestineZero
