You're missing the point in the long term. If MS or Bungie can get away with, sooner or later other devs will be able to get away with it. If say in the future COD 7 had an initial price of 60 dollars and released a map pack for ten dollars, and wouldn't allow you to play multiplayer without it, you'd say at first, w/e. But as time goes on if they decide to do that again 4 more times. You pay 50$ just to stay online, which would piss me off.

Stop being so cheap and just buy them. You complain but what if you owned them and none of the playlists were tied to mythic? Then you would just whine about that.

How ever many playlists it is, you will not win in court for this. My good friend is a very good lawyer and he said "good luck to your friend sueing M$ over that".

Yes it sucks but there is under 1% chance you can sue M$ over this. Its just not goign to happen.

I agree it sucks what they ahve done, but sueing isnt going to work.

You really don't get it do you? It is not about the money, it is about the principle. I can easily afford to buy the mythic map pack but I refuse not to because I don't feel like sinking more money into a game that I already paid $70 (with previous dlc) for. Why should I be penalized even though I have already paid a premium for the game? This is a classic cash grab situation, and could even go so far as to be called extortion. The bottom line is that you should be able to enjoy everything that came with the game when you bought it.

This is a terrible thing for the gaming industry. Online gaming increases in price every year. When online gaming was in it's infancy everything was free. It still is (for the most part) on PC. Hopefully the more people they exasperate with these practices the less likely they will continue doing this in the future.

Well, I don't think you stand a snow balls chance in hell of winning any kind of lawsuit (and I realize you were just venting). I do agree however. It ticks me off as well. I don't really have a problem with DLC, but I usually don't buy any of it, and when it keeps me from being able to play a game, that just pokes me the wrong way. Why they just don't do it like COD is beyond me.

Its not about money its about buying a 60 dollor game. And haing features you payed for and reason you got the game in the first place being taken away. Its called extorion think of it this way, you buy a house and pay it off fully. Then have some one say well to keep living her you have to pay more or just stay in the smallest bedroom. How is that right? You pay for the full game they sale the game instores and no where on the box of new copies does it say you need to shell out 20 more bucks to play online. If it said on the box or in the booklet that when more content comes out you will have to pay for it to play the full game. No one would buy the game that way. I have all the maps but a friend did not and could not afford to get it. Some of us have bills you know and we could not play ranked together. Not all of us can pay 20 more bucks fora game we payed for to play online witch is on the fing box it does not say you can only access certin modes if you dont have the new content. And i am with you. Because if i pay for a game i want to play everything that comes with it. And the main reason to file suitis so other companys dont do this. Its extorion plain and simple.

There are plenty of playlists that do not require the Mythic map pack. You can still play Social Slayer, Social Skirmish, Team Snipers, MLG, Basic Training(provided you're a low level), Squad Battle and Lone Wolves as well as most of the Double EXP weekends playlists Such as last weekend's Grifball.

You can't sue Bungie just because they require that you have Mythic for some of the playlists. Besides, it'd be unfair to the people who payed for the maps to not get a fair share of the matchmaking playlist to actually play with those maps. Most people who don't have the DLC are the people who don't play it often anyway. In your first sentence you said you hadn't played in a while, for example.

As for Bungie being cheap or greedy... I'd agree if they hadn't you know, made the Heroic map pack free and given Cold Storage to us for free along with giving us a free theme and gamerpics on Bungie day last year. They didn't advertise free content, why aren't you angry about that, I wonder.
