[QUOTE="Ghost_Warrior"]Single player can't [QUOTE="killercuts3"][QUOTE="YoshiFrag"][QUOTE="killercuts3"]If Mass Effect is really only single-player and under 25 hours long, it will flop. Every next-gen shooter must have online functionality. People complain about Shadowrun's connectivity with PC gamers and complain about how it is essentially online-only; but seriously, a game without multiplayer is not worth the full price because it will only last you the time it takes you to beat the single player and to get all the achievements. You can't reap much out of a single-player-only game. killercuts3
No. SP > MP imo. Relying solely on MP to save a game is wearing thin on my nerves. 15+ hours and it's worth the price of admission, since 360 games of late are less than 10 hours long with varyingly well/not-so-well implemented MP.
Multiplayer lasts, single player doesn't. Face it, it's a blatant fact.
Yeah, Oblivion doesn't really last does it? And by the way, Mass Effect's main story takes about 40 hours to beat and about 75-80 hours total of gameplay. And may I also mention its a trilogy?
It may be 40 hours long, but you can damn right assure yourself that people will be playing a multiplayer for a whole lot longer than 40 hours. By the way, Oblivion took 6 years to make, and until the "trilogy" is complete, then maybe you can compare it to Oblivion.
Oblivion took 4 years to make, it was started in 2002 after they finished Morrowind and came out in 06. Look Im a BIG Elder Scrolls fan but I believe Mass Effect will be a better game than Oblivion. I've read into Mass Effect a lot and I haven't found one thing I didn't like about the game. This game is not going to flop, I honestly think its the best game coming out this year even with Halo 3, GTA IV and many others. Single player does last, its lasted since videogames started and it continues to last today. Multiplayer is just an added bonus.
