Tecmo Presents: Ninja Gaiden 2

I didn't think Ninja Gaiden was too hard either (at least not on the default difficulty, I never beat it on the hardest setting). There was a time when most people never saw the ending of a game. Ninja Gaiden is a throwback to that era in gaming. I think most the people who found it difficult are button mashers, and the people who found iseasier have probably been playing fighting gamessince the arcade days.

I made that post at the top of the second page. The claws were the very first thing I noticed in those pics. I can only imagine the kind of moveset that you get with them...

I have been waiting for this game since the original and finally its getting here. And knowing Itagaki, he'll find ways to make it even more exhilarating than the original. After all, he is always done it with the DOA series.

Simply WOW! I really enjoyed Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox (I still got my 2 broken controllers to prove it) cause I love these sort of games. Can't wait for No. 2. BRING ON THE GORE!

ahhh jesus christ come on now! I dont want to sound like the pretentious tough hardcore gamer, but you are a casual gamer if you cant finish Ninja Gaiden 1 on normal. I just requires patience, something that you probably dont have. After the first 4-5 levels you'll get used to it and suddenly start enjoying it. You should really give NG another shot, its really one of the greatest action games ever...

I found the original's story kinda boring, personally, which is probably why I never got around to finishing it. Action was very well done, I admit, but sometimes it wasnn't 100% straightforward about where you need to go/what you need to do, which sort of bothered me. On the whole, I consider a game like DMC 3 to be superior in terms of the overall experience, but that's just me. The graphics...well...to be honest, they don't look THAT much better than NG 1's graphics. I mean NG was a fantastic looking game, one of the best looking games last gen, but I would've hoped that there would be a bigger leap for the sequel. Still, combat looks highly promising. I'm very interested into how they've decided to implement a more realistic combat system, and what effect that will have on the overall gameplay.

Oh it would be so great if they put the classic's on XBLA, XD.

Yea, right. it's called bad game design. Ikaruga is an example of excellent game design. Yes, the game is damned hard. But you know what? at no time does the game ever feel impossible. It only encourages you to do better, and rewards you when you do. As such, I can almost clear the first stage without a single death on my own in Normal, and have reduced my dying percentage to maybe one or two times in a stage (except for the very final, but that's mostly because I blow it on the final boss). Ninja Gaiden is hard for the sake of being hard, and insults you for not being being able to hit those buttons at the precise nanoseconds it wants you to. If you're not killing enemies within the first five seconds of encountering them, it penalizes you. And you could spend a whole DAY of non-stop play retrying against a boss in the game in an exercise of futility, because even when you think you have the pattern down, the boss will whore itself out to ensure you die many more times than it ever will. Ninja Gaiden is almost as bad as Ghosts 'n Goblins for the NES... with the exception that Ninja Gaiden at least doesn't make you go all the way back to the very beginning to get some stupid weapon you forgot and then makes you play from beginning to end AGAIN to get the "true" ending of the game.[QUOTE="loky3000"]

Your only problem is you're just not any good at the game. Can you even get past the horsemen in the Hayabusa village? Saying it's just hard for the sake of being hard is ignorant. As any skilled player will tell you, there's a lot of nuance to the combat in NG. And for the record, yes, if you don't attempt to hit an enemy within 5 seconds ( go ahead and count to 5....) he will attempt to kill you. That's not penalizing you. That's you sucking.

hohohooo!! that looks serious, talk about a blood bath. I got a friend who I dam near slapped for disrespecting NG talkin bout i cant play this after i played god of war 2 cause its not as brutal (wich is true in some ways, kratos gets down sometimes but really only when you play the lil cinematic button pushing thing) so I can't wait till he sees this..and from what i see thats awesome that they traded mutated monsters with claws to ninjas with claws, monster bosses will always be awesome in NG but i like fighting against the ninjas, some monsters is cool too i guess though. and after seeing body parts getting cut off in the pics, Imagine the combos, I bet with those new claws ryu has he's gonna be doing some brutaly horrible things to his enemies with those..No ryu, please don't roundhouse his head off with your foot claws, stop itBoricua_Kidd21

Cheat, for NG, comeone man, that's just sad. All the bosses are very easy once you figure them out... read their moves etc. If you really needed help, check out the strategy guide or go to Youtube and watch what other people do to defeat them. jc91787

I loved NG and NGB on Xbox so, when I got a PS3 this past summer one of the first games I bought (I only own RFOM and NGS) was Ninja Gaiden Sigma. NGS is an excellent game and probably the best game currently availalbe for PS3. Those that say that the graphics are not a huge leap form Xbox are dead wrong. I compared NGB vs NGS on my High Def DLP and it wasn't even a contest. Sharper textures, more stuff on screen in the environment, more effects, and much improved character models.

Sigma was made to develope the next gen engine for NG2, so they will look similiar but by the time NG2 is ready for launch it will be improved. Remember that Sigma just came out 2 months ago, so when comparing these screenshots there won't be much different yet as the engine and graphics do not advance that much in only 2 months time.

NG2 will be awesome, can't wait.

Well no, I didn't miss the point when you didn't mention karma. I assumed you weren't even trying to get it because it's too hard. Which seems to be about right.....
