GUN. It may have upscaled last gen graphics but the first play through hooked me. I loved the western feel and the story. What was even better was when I recognized who voiced Colton White.
Call of Duty 3. Probably the most over looked COD and for me, one of the best. I loved the online so much. This gen its probably my most played game online with Halo 3 just as much or just under. I loved using vehicles and it didnt matter if an enemy had one because it was fun trying to take it back or blow it up. There were constant power struggles to fight against and choke points to defend on in the maps. I believe its one of the first multiplayer games Ive played which had medics which was great. I only ever really played on two maps because I thought they were awesome; Poisson (the most at about 90%) and Merville.
Although some people couldn't stand it, I say Dark Sector. Solid Third Person Shooter. I guess I would be mad if I paid full retail for it, but I picked it up for $6.00 brand new from Newegg and it was worth every penny. Section 8- Campaign mode is lame but Multiplayer is great. Great game that never got the publicity it deserved. The Bourne Conspiracy is another solid game. Very linear but interesting hand to hand combat and shooting. polishinfidelI enjoyed Dark Sector, but only for the combat. It turned out to be pretty terrible story wise but guiding the glaive at full strength to carve up a screaming soldier was oh so satisfying. I also didnt mind Bourne Conspiracy but some of the fights were REDICULOUS especially with the doctor in the burning barn. I almost did it about 30 times and then you need to start right back at the beginning and the whole sequence goes for about 7 minutes from what I remember. You need to take EVERY opportunity and execute it PERFECTLY to pass that stage.
Kameo. Game is quite awesome and almost never talked about.

This. It might seem odd seeing a grown man play it, but it is actually not a bad game at all. Some of the character designs were very reminiscient of Pixar's Monsters, Inc., complete with wavy fur and whatnot. Viva Pinata was also a guilty pleasure of mine, just not a game I would want my girlfriend to see me play.
Dark Sector, as mentioned earlier, is also pretty good but there are some multiplayer breaking glitches that allow you to shoot accurately around the corner without the opposition even knowing you're there. Metro 2033 is also going to be up there as one of my hidden gems. It came out fairly recently, so it is still pretty fresh in a lot of people's minds, but I doubt it will be in a years time. I think it's pretty awesome though.
Lost Odeysey for me, I dont think it was too well known a while back but I got it recently and loving it so far.raylewisnfl52I agree with this, Lost Odyssey was one great gem.
of all time: Jet Set Radio Future, that is seriously the most unfairly ignored game of all time :(
of this gen: Kameo, true it did sell fairly well but it seems that when we talk about staple games this gen kameo is almost always ignored,
Shadowrun. Nobody ever gave it the try it deserved. I've never played such a well balanced game and the community was the best I've ever experienced.
I also recently beat Scrap Metal and I think that it was the best Arcade game out of the four that came out recently.
I really enjoyed Dark Sector and The Bourne Conspiracy as well....
I also enjoyed Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Brothers in Arms and Battle for Middle Earth....
:)
Mirrors Edge, Red Faction Guerrilla, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, and Race Pro if your really into racing sims.
Lost Odeysey for me, I dont think it was too well known a while back but I got it recently and loving it so far.raylewisnfl52This would be my pick as well. I'm even thinking about purchasing it again. It has been two years since I finished the game and it's spectacular. One of the best JRPGs around, and it's my favorite. Hmm, I think I'll run over to Gamestop right now and pick it up for like $20.. A must-have for JRPG fans.
probably mirrors edge, too bad you can beat the game in less than 90 minutes though, maybe then i would have given it a higher score than a 6.5
My would have to be, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1 + 2. Blue dragon, Lost odyssey, star ocean and Afro samurai. All of them are great games and a few of them rarely get looked at in the store I work in.
Most would think I'm crazy, but I enjoyed the heck out of Star Trek: Legacy. It certainly caters to the Star Trek crowd only, though.
Also, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Simply incredible.
Ghostbusters!
I know that licensed games are usually pretty bad, but it was everything you would want a Ghostbusters game to be! Funny story, voice acting with original cast, and excellent gameplay. If you like the movie Ghosterbusters (which I think is everybody), I would recommend this as a hidden gem.
hahaha pd0 could be a hidden gem if only it was good !
but ill go on a limb ,, ,
test drive unlimited, its never talked about here
