is it ok to shut off the console while the console is making that noise? is that noise even normal? i've had about 4 or 5 360's and they've all made that noise. RDR froze on me today and so did ACII, so call me paranoid. *knocks on wood.*

i think if you bang the disk drive slightly the 360 will make that noise for the rest of its life. I don't think it relates to the duration of your 360 life though, good luck!

Your alright, All of my Xboxes have made that noise. I would suggest installing your games on your HDD if you have one. The games don't spin wile your playing them and it is just one less thing your xbox has to do. Which I believe helps your Xbox 360 last a bit longer.
