I've been a PC gamer for my whole life and i want a 360 for the halo+gears series' mainly. Now i need a completely 'UNfanboyed' opinion on which is the smarter buy. I've been researching this all day and it seems as if the new "slim" runs HOTTER than the previous builds BUT instead has a built in "heat-saver" option, which will promt you to turn off your 360 when it gets too hot. But i've also found out that the power brick can shut down too =/ (RboD). So basicly what i'm asking is, which am i most safest with for long hour gaming?

They're both fine. Buy the one that's the better deal for what you want based on the size of hard drive you want. Elite's are probably dirt cheap right now, but the slim has more features. It's all up to you.
