For the past few days I have been argueing with myself over which game I should happen to purchase. I've narrowed it down to either: "The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion". Or "Gears Of War". I haven't even tried either of the two so I need some advice. What would you pick?:?

I would say Oblivion, it's a more complete, (and better imo) game, and it will last you a lot longer.

Yeah, Gears is all about online play and Oblivion is all about single player.

I personally enjoyed GoW better, but I would have to say that overall Oblivion is a much better game. The lack of online play and TERRIBLE LOADING TIMES (seriously, there really bad) made me trade Oblivion in. It is a pretty hard choice, but I would have to say Gears...especially with the awesome new update.

Huh....Oblivion does seem more worth the while. But Gears is most assurdely unique. I still have the choice before me.

Gears. Yet if its going to be your 1st offline game than Oblivion is a better choice, its much longer.

I think I will go with Oblivion...besides fantasy games are a bit more interesting. Perhaps I'll buy Gears next time.

If you can, rent them.  If not, GeoW has excellent graphics and is a fun FPS.  I am not into the online component as much as other people but they love it.  If you want a long lasting game Oblivion with Shivering Isles will give you almost 70 hours of gameplay.

it depends on how much money you have coming in. like if you have a good job that pays nice then i would say gears of war. but if you don't have a lot of money comng in then you should get elder scrolls 4 because it will hold you over until you have enough money to get a new game

I would get the Oblivion GOTY. Gears is great, but Oblivion is freakin epic. There's a few hundred hours of stuff to do.

Since you asked. No doubt, Gears of War. Since Oblivion is only $29.99. I say get both. Both games are awesome without question. Gears of War is pretty short so you'll have Oblivion waiting for you right after you're done. But please be advised, dont play Oblivion first or else you wont stop playing it for hours and well you know, Gears of War will just collect dust.
