I don't understand how you played Two Worlds before Oblivion!
Yes, Oblivion is a very fun game. The expansion packs add a lot more replay value as well.

[QUOTE="great_rulo"][QUOTE="tinkles87"]Is it any good? I have been looking for a new game to buy and when I came across this I thought it looked really good, I was just wondering if it was. I like almost every RPG I have come across. I own KOTOR 1 & 2, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and Two Worlds and I enjoy them all and have replayed them all numerous times.Juggernaut140
Another newbie seduced by Bioware... those arent RPGs, anyway play Oblivion, i've been playing it for more than 300 hours and im still not bored. it was my first 360 game back in 2006.
How?
I did everything in the game in about 30-40 hours and got to level 30
No you didn't you did all of the achievements, and called it a day. You did not do all of the side quests, along with more then one class.Baldur's Gate is only above average? What RPGs do you consider to be the best? They're the only above average games made by Bioware, Squaresoft was a much better company.
My english isnt too good.
great_rulo
in 30-40 hrs? im calling you a liar flat out
vendettared468
It's okay, because that isn't physically possible.
All side quests and caves explored? Leveled your guy up to the max level?
The main quest is not even close t a majority of the game.
The side quests are all a lot shorter than most people would have you think.
Leveling to maximum might as well not even exist because everything scales to your level you might as well not even have levels. So this doesnt really factor in to having "done everything"
As for all the extra dungeons thats fine if you need to suck extra hours for the game, but personally, if the developer is too lazy to build it properly, i'm too lazy to explore it. It's all tilesets and random construction none of it feels personalised and it is in fact. All the same as the rest. So once you've seen a dungeon tile, you have in fact, seen that dungeon tile no matter where it pops up again in the game world.
Yes there is a lot to do if you want to explore every tiny piece of the game, but you could easily be forgiven for simply not bothering because all the developers did was copy/pasta most of it.
To 'see' everything the game has to offer, your looking at 25 - 40 hours.
To do every tiny piece of it, your looking anywhere from 60+

Worst. Forum. Comment. Ever.
Above Average???? What in gods name are you smoking?!
Also, incase nobody ever told you that RPG and JRPG are two totally different genres, consider this a tip.
I don't say this often, but i've used up all my seriousness for today so here goes. You phail hard.

If he says Final Fantasy VI or VIII there is a 99% chance I will Hulk Out for 2d6 rounds.

I've seen worse comments (blame System Wars), but that's up there.Seriously, Baldur's Gate is in the top 3 WRPGs of all time along with Fallout and Planescape Torment. Anyone who says otherwise, but gives Oblivion a 10, loses all credibility in my opinion.

I know it's just crazy. Baldurs Gate was the absolute best game i'd ever played until I discovered Fallout. And anyone who can't see it for it's merits (regardless of their own personal opinion) should be fired out of a cannon. Repeatedly.
Oblivion is one of the best games ever made. I strongly recommend buying it. Try to get the Game of the Year Edition because it includes the expansions.

I wouldn't even put it in the top 10 games of all time.
Hell, I haven't even played Fallout, Baldurs Gate, or Planetscape (I WANT TO!!!!) And I can see what's wrong with Oblivion.Juggernaut140
Nows a good time because the collections came back into print (in budget form for Fallout) a year or so ago, the Baldurs Gate Collection has both games and both expansions, Icewind Dale Collection has IWD and HoW, as well as IWD 2. And the Fallout Collection has both games and Tactics.
You can also get Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition which comes with a huge chunk of it's expansions very cheap.
The only really difficult one is Planescape Torment. Not sure what it goes for these days but I dont recall it ever being re-released.
Well hey, that's your opinion. You don't have to go around saying that Oblivion didn't make your top 10 list.SgtPeppers147
Given it's huge array of flaws, it's developers arrogance and it's stuck up attitude towards itself it shouldn't make anyones.

Finding Torment is a pain in the ass. I'd know; I recently went through it (I sold my copy back in the day). The only places where you can find it are the Amazon marketplace and eBay. It's usually around ~$60. It's worth it for the story alone.[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"]Hell, I haven't even played Fallout, Baldurs Gate, or Planetscape (I WANT TO!!!!) I plan on getting it. I've been wanting to play it for years now.

Wow boy am I glad I kept my copy. Full box and everything (although i've a sneaking suspicion I left all the inserts on the side a while back and my mum through them all out. I'm too afraid to look in the box)
Don't remember what I paid for it, was some rediculous small amount at a car boot sale I think, it's not in great condition but it works perfectly.

Wow that's great if it's true. :)
This is off topic, but why is it "Planescape: Torment," and not just "Torment"? You don't say "The Forgotten Realms: Baldur's Gate" or "The Forgotten Realms: Neverwinter Nights" or "Greyhawk: The Temple of Elemental Evil" or "Not a D&D Campaign Setting: Fallout." Okay, I'm being silly with the last one, but you get the question.
This isn't off topic: Torment is going for $60 at Amazon. Yeah, that's expensive, but it's not any more than Two Worlds when it came out. Saying Torment is better than Two Worlds is the understatement of the week.
Probably the best game on the 360.Ghost_702
In your opinion. Gears of War and Mass Effect are way better imo.

Palantas
Because the other games aren't entitled Forgotten Realms: etc. Don't ask me why I didnt develop them haha.
Maybe the devs felt Torment would be too obscure a name and that Planescape would make it more interesting, and immidietly identifiable with the DnD crowd.
