I read that when your character gets turned into a vampire and you don't feed on anyone for 24 hours you become more powerful. My character has been a vampire for nearly a week (in-game week) and hasn't changed again since becoming a vampire, is there a glitch with the game or is it just mine?

i believe you have to sleep if you haven't already. if i remember right, don't you have some sort of dream when you sleep before you turn into a vampire?

I was able to become more powerful with my other character but it still took almost a week (in-game) of sleeping before he was fully a vampire. I was thinking it may be something to do with the races, my current character is a Khajiit.

-Edit-

It has NOTHING to do with race.  Read the gamespot oblivion guide.....

You wait 24 hours, sleep.  Go up a "level" of vampirism.  Wait another 24, sleep go up another.  Repeat 2 more times and you are fully a vampire.  It really isn't that hard.

All you said was that it took you "a week of sleeping" to get to 25%. Did you do EXACTLY what I said above? Also note that it takes 3 days and a nights sleep after you contract the diease before you ever get to stage one. Then its every 24 hours and sleep (or waiting) after that. So you have slept 4 times over the course of 144 hours, sleeping the first time after three days and then once every subsequent day after that? (without EVER feeding of course)?

Im already a stage one vampire which took the normal 3 days and sleeping but it has been five days since then and I haven't changed again.

after about five days in game i think it is you get plus 15 to a lot of stats.  i always let myself go 100 percent vamp before i close oblivion gates.  because there is no sun damage there.  and i am stronger than everyone and it makes it a ton easier.  you do have to sleep to trun vamp.  i think it is one of the best things you can do in the game to make your character buff.  i dont get everyone that complains about it.  it is easy to manage.  never sleep.  never turn vamp after you feed.  sleep turn vamp.  and i have a house in every city so i always have somewhere to crash.  and there is always a sleeping beggar to feed off of.  but now i have moved up.  i only feed of counts and countesses.  i figure my character is classy enough that he should not feed off the poor.

the azura temple quest is in the main questline and will give you vampire dust.

also to the TC, my game sometimes does that, I believe if you dont move after you wake up, you will stay at the same vampirism, if i were you, i'd do a few nightime errands
