Yes, it was indeed something new and creative for CoD 4 to be a modern war game. However, I enjoy the class of the old war games. That is why I prefer Call of Duty 5: World at War. The only disappointment is the lack of maps, as Call of Duty 2 had tons. But, that is a debate for another day, as Call of Duty 2 is by far the best in the series.the_sine_cura

Well, i own both so i dnt care but if i had to pick it would be world at war because i like WWII weapons better. Its all about personal prefrence at the end of the day......

I like CoD4 better, but World at War is a great game. Everyone keep saying they're tired of World War II games, but I just don't get it. I've played like 5 WWII games, and it's definitely not old to me. Like did people play every single WWII game ever released? Because that's the only way they could really be tired of it. 5 WWII seems like a good number, even a few more would be acceptable, because 5-7 games GENERALLY but not specifically about the same topic can't be that bad over the period of your life.
I enjoy both because i'm burned out on COD4. Singleplayer co-op and zombie mode were great additions. I wonder if COD:MW2 will keep these in or take them out.

I think the weapons are really unique because they are different than every other first-person shooter you play so it shakes things up, and keeps you interested. Even though I do prefer CoD 4 Modern Warfare's weapon's to that of CoD World at War.
I think their both great games and they should'nt get bashed, but if i have to pick, COD World at War is my choice, Nazi Zombies FTW. COD WAW did felt real in the campaign since it feels like your their, i also enjoyed the "multiplayer". COD 4 was a pretty good game, it felt like a movie, which is a good thing. The multiplayer is pretty good. Anway, IMO, COD WAW is a better game overall.
Whoever said Gears of war 2 on this Topic, did you played the multiplayer? that was garbage man, im just saying.
to me WAW is better even though they are particay the same i just prefere oldr weapons and are more interseted in the multiplayer maps even though the respawning isn't particulary great

You go to your preferences in the upper right hand corner where you sign in. Then go to the forum tab, then signature. To get your gamercard in your sig (signature) go to www.mygamercard.net

I'm sure Infinity Ward will keep them. Treyarch built off of CoD4's success by using their game engine, Infinity Ward will do the same I'm assuming with Co-op and Nazi Terrorists or something.

Respawning in CoD games has been bad throughout the series and is well known. But I believe the spawns are bad because they want to drop you right into the action.

Call of Duty 2 rocked! Best WWII shooter out there no doubt. You didn't need classes or any perks or nothing like a special feature, just go online, choose a side, pick your gun, and dash out some mayhem. Probably the best launch title too, but I had it for PC.
