Hey everyone, I am contemplating upgrading my 20GB hard drive to the 120GB as mine seems to be filling up rather quickly and I have intentions to keep purchasing new games and downloading demos and videos I'm starting to wonder if I should dish out the cash for the bigger and better hard drive? I was hoping people who have already made the purchase or anyone who has an opinion on the matter can recommend if the upgrade is worth the cash (cause they aren't cheap...).

Thanks for the help!

Compared to the price for the 20GB HDD they are pretty cheap. Now to answer your question. I have a XBOX 360 ELITE so naturally the 120GB HDD came with it. With the 20GB HDD you have 14GB free or soemthing like that. It is nice to have 120GB, but if you don't plan on keeping the demos then there is nothing to worry about. It also depends how much DLC, XBOX Live Arcade Games, Themes, Gamer Pics, and such you download. I download a lot of that stuff and have over 60 games so 20GB would be gone pretty easily for me and I was down to around 4GB. Also I have more than one XBOX Live account. On the other hand most people delete demos and with the movies you have to delete them. So it basically comes down to how much DLC for games do you download and how many game saves and such you plan on having.

to answer your question: is it worth it? no. do you have any other choices due to the fact that they're proprietary? no. i'm also contemplating this no-alternative option as well due to reasons you have also stated. despite my groanings, i will be purchasing this within the next couple of months anyway... :)

Well currently I have about 5GB left on my 20GB Hardrive and I do enjoy the arcade games and plan to purchase quite a few new games over the upcoming months. I've also heard people claim that the hard drive is faster with loading demos and such? I havn't found any proof of this anywhere I was curious to know if there is any hardware improvements in the newer hard drives
