And that is:

Bioshock 2 to to feaure co-op and Soviets :(:(:(:(:(

Are you thinking right now: WTF??? Ok, good so I wasn't the only one who thought that. I mean Bioshock and co-op? How, why orwhen did that ever sound like a good idea? Thje whole immersion comes from you being on your own, being scared and sometimes psychologically freaked out. How the hell is that ever going to work with someone even if just an AI partner standing right next to you all thetime??? Need any proof to why it takes out the horror from a game? Look at RE 5, brilliant game but not scary at all because of co-op. Bioshoick simply does not mix with co-op. Also,I think co-op is becoming the new 'quick time events'. Yes, it works in some games like Halo 3 or Gears, but in a horror game that is meant to scare you? That is meant to make you feel like you are on your own? NO. but companies just seem tothink, as the RE producer said in an interview: Oh we put it in there to appeal more to Western gamers. I mean WTF?He just basically admitted that they only put co-op in the game to get more people to buy it!!! 'Yeah, we'll just tack it on there, yeah it will get us more money in the end.

Also, Soviets, are you again thinking WTF? Good you aren't alone again. I thought that. But wait for the best part. The report goes on to state: These enemies will be much smarter than the splicers and will make use of cover techniques and flanking. SO what? This is a World War II FPS now? A CoD knock off with some splicers in a different setting with a co-op partner?

I knew it was no good when Ken Levine said that he was not directly working on BioShock 2. Well as we can now tell it is and will be a massive shame. Here is the link have fun reading it. I am off to play the first one and imagine where the series could have headed instead:

Sounds good to me - the coop part. Mainly as as great as Bioshock was, just didnt feel like playing again as was no multiplayer or replay value. Wouldnt mind coop for this game to have each person complete seperated for a good portion, working together to fix problems. (example - water leak in a tunnel - one person has to find supplies to fix the leak, other person has to find and turn off the water pressure ... or whatever)

I kind of agree with the coop portion TC. I don't feel like it will be as immersive as the first one with another ai or player with you. However the soviet thing kind of makes sense depending on the time period of the game.

I'm more disappointed with the fact that Big Daddies aren't coming back.

The whole thing just sounds like they are taking the quality stuff out of the game and putting money maker stuff in instead, or ideas that right now just don't seem to make that much sense. I hope when they actually get to show the game it will make sense

Another game falls victim to the unwashed masses demanding multiplayer in every game :(

These are just rumors at this point. I personally don't think the inclusion of the Soviets is a bad idea. They had to go into a new direction for the second game, and seeing as Andrew Ryan was absolutely crazy about the communist threat, I think it would fit in there pretty well. Co-op... not so much. As long as you can still play the game Single Player only (including the achievements) I wouldn't care, though.

I kinda agree with what you are saying. Instead of focusing completely on an epic SP experience, the thought of adding coop may strip away from the potential of the single player. I personally love playing games coop but never imagined Bioshock to be a coop game. It all depends on how well executed it is and if team doesn't add it as a half-assed feature in the middle of development. :)

In general I agree with your concerns. Too many "me too" games these days. That said I'd be willing to overlook that if the game offers you the option to play solo or with a partner. If the co-op is just part of the multiplayer package I could accept that.

Delightfully, that original article has apparently been updated. This may just be a hoax (and hopefully is).

True or false, BioShock 2 is still going to disappoint anyone who has so little shame that they're looking forward to it.

I remember playing Bioshock and when I finished it I just KNEW they would make a sequal and somehow figure out a way to bastardize it. Might as well start calling the video game industry Hollywood.

I KNEW EA was gonna mess this up. If i wanted co-op i'd play gears, halo, or any other fps thats out there anymore. I can just see EA hounding the developers to put co-op in it because every other game nowadays has co-op. Bioshock is by far my favorite 360 title. If they screw this up im never buying another EA game.

How could there be no more big daddies???? they were practically the symbol of bioshock! They defined the game.

Well, the way the first one ended they kind of capped it off with how the little sisters grewup and all. How can you make a sequel after the story looked as though it was over. Now, if they made a prequel then I can see how that could work.

But yeah I agree with you it doesn't seem like BIOSHOCK type game.

I never much liked bioshock. It was a pretty creepy atmosphere, and fun, but it just never grew on me. I'm not sure that coop would bother me or make it any more appealing.
