So you get an 8 hour campaign, which has good gameplay and a good story.... With outdated graphics. And you get ONE multiplayer mode that doesn't have match making, and that automatically quits out if someone leaves the game. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! wow. It's hard to compare this to GTA4 downloadable content which is what? 20... and longer than this. I knew what I was "getting into" and I did my research, but unfortunately like everybody else I HAD to buy it in order to play firefight w/ all my friends.

What's worth is the review companies that must have been paid off. Come on, you get one new online mode, which is more of a frustration than it is fun to get started due to no matchmaking, but after 10 minutes of searching in different friends list just hope nobody decides to quit!

Extremely high pricetag. Not going to buy it because of that.

New games cost $60. There's plenty of other games out there that cost $60 when they were released that gave you less than ODST. And no-one is forcing you to buy ODST. As you said, you knew what you were buying before you bought it so why complain now? And you said you bought it because all your friends were playing firefight then you complain about not being able to find people to play firefight with. Honestly, more and more I feel like most gamers are just a bunch of little pissy moaning babies.

Yeh well in Australia it's equivalent to US$70, at best. But considering I don't have any of the map packs and it comes with three new ones (I don't own any other Halos so the remade map IS new to me), a new multiplayer mode and a quick new campaign, I still reckon it's an okay deal.

But when you take into account the fact that the GTA expansions cost far less and provide a bit more campaign play, mutliple entirely new multiplayer modes and side missions, the deal looks a little less sweet.

Storyline? I'm sorry did you play the same game I did? If this game were put out by someone other than Bungie, the lack of depth wouldn't have bothered me. However, since Bungie's name is slapped on the box, I assumed I was going to experience a game with a compelling storyline. As storytelling is what Bungie does best...or at least with any game related to the Halo Universe. In return, all I got was a four/five hour campaign (on legendary) that was shallow and at times, simply boring (I'm looking at you Rookie). I've been an avid fan of the Halo series for years but this title really feels thrown together and the writing was simply horrid.

I personally enjoyed the storyline.

Not the Rookie parts so much though.

I was expecting this whole compelling mystery with the Rookie. Rookie was just the errand boy.. Running from Point A to Point B so I could start a REAL Level and play as a Decent character.

I had extremely high expectations for this game. Perhaps if they would have left it as an expansion pack, I wouldn't have been so disappointed with it. Alas, I was. I felt no attachment to the characters and no sense of accomplishment when I finished the game. The concept was great and Bungie most certainly could have built a great game around it and they didn't. And don't get me started on the composures.

Then again, that's just my opinion. :P

Personally, I think it's probably the best Halo since the original. If you don't like it, that's your problem.

Haha, a very valid one at that.
I was rather disappointed with the ending and the final level or so to be honest.

I was rather hyped about the whole deal aswell. I never bought the Halo 3 Map Packs and my patience paid off in the end.
The campaign was rather overhyped though. The Rookie parts were boring and the whole time I was just waiting to play an actual level. :/

Oh well. It's not like I'm gonna take the game back. Yes, it's not perfect.
It's still a fun play though (:
Firefight isn't all that bad. The lack of matchmaking sucks and the fact that the whole thing shuts down when one person leaves.. Hm. I'm waiting for people to come and try for "Endure" with me right now. I'm somewhat iffy about asking Gamespot members though.
If one leaves right before the 4th Set.. I swear I'll start screaming haha.

?? You get 2 disks. Halo ODST, which is a great game, and a Halo 3 multiplayer disk with all of the Halo 3 map packs. It's actually a great deal IMO...

its just an expansion for Halo 3.

orgianally it was supposed to come to xbl for 2000 points for just the campaign and fire fight.

but then they decided to add halo three multi player and jack up the price from around 30 to 60

They should Release firefight as an arcade game for 10-15 bucks. Simply called: Halo 3: Firefight.

That is easily my most favorite part of ODST ( The campaign is alright, and the online is the same game from 2007, not worth the $60)

I don't see how an 8 hour campain with a a lot of replay value is not worth $60. Loads of other single player games offer the same thing for the same price. If you don't like it don't buy it.

I agree. I wasted $60 tbh. Luckily my cousin wants to buy the game from me, so I'm going to sell it to him for $55.

The problem with ODST is not the game play it the length of the campaign, if the game was 9.99 or 800 MS pointsi would be very happy with the buy, BUT we all paid 59.99 when you pay full price for a game you expect or demand that it will be a full Game not a 60$ add on download that you had to buy at a store. The ODST game based on game play and story is outstanding but you can play through it in heroic in a few hours that just ashame, there is no excuse for that.

Agreed, it is some bull. I posted on this earlier and some people gave me some lecture about it being my fault...no one forced me to buy it. That isn't the issue though. The issue is that this game shouldn't have been $60 to begin with, at most...it should retail for $30, but whatever. As a result, I am just going to have to play the heck out of it. Unfortunately, I think my 360 is dying cause it is having some serious disc read errors and I kinda just wanna chuck it out the window and grab a new Elite. Only $250...not a bad deal at all.

You didn't have to buy it.

The game isn't a joke, you are.

I love ODST andI feel it's a much better game than Halo 3 and a much better game than most games out. Then again I didn't spend $60 on it, I got it from Toys R Us and you got a free ODST action figure and a $20 gift card, if you add the price of the ODST figure I paid 33.18 and if you don't, I payed $45.17. Good deals FTW!

Definitely worth the purchase for me as well considering I never bought the Halo 3 maps, now I get to actually play every playlist and Team Throwback is great. Definitely beats only playing Lone Wolves (hooray for Oddball on Guardian where people kill you instead of the guy with the ball!) MLG (How many people are going to quit this game and how quickly?) and Squad Battle.

He bought it because Halo is the only franchise that has it's haters buy the game. When you see people hating on MGS, Final Fantasy, etc. they never own it and probably played it for 5-10 minutes at a friends house. With Halo? Everyone "has" to buy it so they do it aswell, even though they know they hate the game and will nitpick at everything.

My friend complained about the music. Really? Of all things to hate from Halo, you choose the music? Let 'em hate, who cares. ODST is still going to put up ridiculous numbers as is Halo 3 and Halo 2 is probably more active than a lot of current gen games right now. Halo CE has LAN centers dedicated to it. No matter how much you guys hate on Halo nothing is going to change, why not just move on and play a game you enjoy instead of trying to convince Halo fans that the game is garbage? It's not going to work.

 Definitely understand that.

The game is fun, lets face it, it's c1assic Halo at it's finest. Although, the addition of health kits was simply annoying. :( However, for someone like me, that already had all the maps, it was a kick in the gut, to expect the Bungie experience and completely be robbed of it. If you want to sell a game as a stand alone title, that's fine. But at least give your dedicated fan base a title worthy of their hard earned cash. I guess given Bungies past, I had set the bar entirely too high, hence my disappointment. I think all gamers, at some point or another find themselves in the same situation. You would think in my thirty years, I would have learned not to get overly excited about anything...but with Bungie, it was quite difficult not to. Lesson learned. ;)
