5 games compared to 1? hmmm Halflife 2 and Ep 1 and 2 are much longer and IMHO better single player games, and Team Fortress is amazing online, and Portal is there just for casual fun when your bored. Half Life OB is probally the better value for your money, but Halo 3 still has betetr online Deathmatch games(i dunno if you played TF2 but it's not about purley killing things like Halo, it's very team based and even though you will have wicked fire fights it's more strategic and differant than what halo offers. it's really comes down to if you want 1 game or 5. and no the 5 games do not equal Halo 3. it's more content and overall it's better.
overall if your bored with Halo you can make a replay or make a map no one will use. or in HL OB you can actually get into any of the 5 games cause there differant visually and MEchanically. So if you only own Halo 3 your left with Playing only Halo 3 with OB there technically 3 differant games and Gameplay. so it's gonna have a longer lasting appeal.
I find Half-Life to be an all around better single player game that has the best physics out there.. IMO completly, I belive the Orange Box is so much better then Halo 3.

Orange Box(5games) = $60
if you play through all the half lifes in the orange box and spend time with team fortress its better... and longer... and Episode 2 has some wicked battles!... best ive come across, really challenging.

i woulnd't say betetr but Differant is a word. Forget how many maps are involved cause truthfully it's about killing people and having fn that dooable on any map with players online wise your comparing Team MP VS MP. in TF2 you might need a player to be a medic so he can heal the HEavy Guns while in Halo even team deathmatch doesn't require any team play they just go around killing the other team and you combine the scores. so it's almost like Halo 3 is pure killing no matter the game type.....
p.s people who complain about lack of maps on TF2 just remember Halo 3 online ranked automatch basically puts you on the same map all the time so yeah thats not a good argument.
I would say that the single player experience is light years ahead with Orange Box. Portal, HL2 and Ep 1&2 are awesome compared to Halo 3 single player.
Multiplayer is probably where Halo 3 wins with all the different game types and maps. TF2 is an awesome game with all the classes and such and variety in characters. To be honest though, I'll play TF2 more than Halo 3 multiplayer.
Orange Box by far. Halo 3 is more like Halo 2.5. Halo 3 is a great game but nothing new. Single player is very lack luster and short, and multiplayer is nothing new. I got bored with it real fast. Orange Box is finally a refresh with the fps genre. There is nothing like Portals and Team Fortress 2. HL2 was rated ONE OF the best games ever on the PC.
The Orange Box. I think TF2 is better in many ways then Halo 3's mp, The Half Life Trilogy has a much better story, gameplay, and pacing than halo 3, and portal is awesome.
Yeah I agree, I definately prefer Team Fortress to Halo MP. Makes me laugh more. But overall i would say the Orange Box because of value and longevity.
i love them both, but orange wins with a long margin on single player, halo 3 wins on multiplayer...(Team fortress 2 is great though...)... Just get them both anyway if you can play the orange box on pc...
