What's the theory behind this? How does wrapping your 360 in towels help with the 3 red lights? I thought the 3 red lights were from overheating? So unless I am wrong (which I may be) how does trapping more heat in your 360 help things?stegera
i heard it heats things back into place or something

Don't do the towel crap because it only damages the console further. Ah this is great I'm gonna get a refurbished sent back that had someone damage its components even further...joeamis
How do you figure? If it is broken, and doesn't work. Then after doing this "trick" it works perfectly fine, I don't see how it could damage it more.

I'm actually trying the same thing, I have 1 red light, so I have to pay like $110 to get it repaired so I want to get 3RL to get it repaired for free.Yes, the 'Wrap your RROD 360 with 3 towels and letting it heat for awhile' will allow your 360 to work again. As some say once done it will last along time and may prevent it from happening in the future, other say that they did it and it only lasts a few hours or 2-3 days. I say that the more you do it on the same console, the easier it'll be for it to break.
