Since I'm going off to college soon, one where none of my friends are going to, i was thinking about picking up a 360 so i can play with them online, i figure this is more logical than them all getting ps3s. Anyways, anyone have any good tips on what i should get, like games and accessories. Keep in mind, college, so i have to be a little lax with my spending here. Thanks guys.

Couple things, try to get a wireless headset, COD 4, Gears of War, and Halo 3 for starters. You can probably find a Halo 3 console. I play mine almost everyday and unlike the white ones I had, my Halo on has never given me any problems. Good luck man, don't spend to much time playing while in school though, you should be too busy with school work and getting to know some of the females.

I would reccomend Gears of War, but if you are looking for an online experience you will not get one. There are at most, 12 people playing online at a time on Gears of War's versus modes. I do LOVE that game and you should experience if you have some disposable cash, but if you are looking for 360 games soley for an online experience GoW is not the best option. I would suggest COD4. I am not a big fan of Halo 3, but I do not know your tastes. There is also Rainbow Six Vegas (I also don't like but it is popular) and UT3 comes out on June 2. This game I REALLY want to play and I am trying to self-promote for the 360. Good luck. :)

It is definately the most affordable way to keep in touch with your friends. Sometimes when I'm playing on live with some of my friends its almost as if there right in the same room with me.

Get Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Rainbow6:Vegas2, Forza2, COD4, Bioshock, Orange Box and GRAW2 :)

Other notables games to check out later on = Eternal Sonata, Condemned 1/2, Kameo, Gears of War, Halo3, NBA2k8, Ace Combat 6, Oblivion, Burnout and Perfect Dark Zero (as its pretty cheap now i think).

Xbox live is great to keep in touch with friends/family on, and enjoy some good gaming together at the same time.

be sure to figure out if it will be easy to access the internet using your 360 in your dorm room. It may be troublesome. If they tell you "You can't do it" you can, It is just harder. You will nee to copy your /ipconfig data from your pc into your xbox to access xbox live because of school online securities. I hear it is even harder than getting online for PS3 from some of my friends.

You're wanting to keep in touch with your friends and Xbox Live is obviously your best bet. More games for your friends and yourself to choose from and it's easier to get everything set up. If you go and play online with your friends on PSN, you'll have to quit your game to talk to them, and there is no multitasking, and they'll get bored of the run-around. You can do anything and everything at the same time on the Xbox 360 without closing anything.

The 360 has the majority and it's convenient.

I'd say get either the Premium or the Halo edition. The Halo edition comes with a wireless headset and Halo 3(highly advise you to get) I'd also get Call of Duty 4. I'd wait because there's a new Gears of War comin out later this year and the first one is a bit steep in price for how old the game is.

get a recharable battery or a wired controller.

get a nice pair of wireless headphones for all night gaming sessions.

GOW, COD4, halo3, rock band and gta IV will last you a long time. Get em.

As a fellow college boy, I'd say the Halo Console or the Elite would be best, but even if you only get the pro they're still good. I got one of the new Pro consoles and they're fine. Wireless headset isn't essential straight away, so just get the 12 month XBL starter pack where it comes with the wired headset and then if you have the money buy the wireless. I got b oth and its good because when my wireless needs to be charged I just use the wired one in the meantime. As far as games go, find out ones that your mates have, and then make a decision. ;)

It's actually a lot simpler then you think. you want to get a 360 to stay in touch with your friends, it's a good choice and I say you should go through with it. the pro is the best quality one you can get without spending much then for games all you really need is atleast one or two. ask your friends what they play mainly or just pick up call of duty 4 and halo 3 as well as a headset and you should be good. hope that helps man.

Wirelss router will probably be a must since your probably going to need wi-fi, as far as games go I would try and pick up stuff with co-op/online play that your friends also like to pllay, so definetly talk to them and see what they suggest.

Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 should keep you busy until the holidays.
