Hi all,

I have a question for people who have some form of cooling system for thier 360. First of all, I was wondering if anyone has gotten the Three Red Lights after using a cooling system. Since heat seems to be the issue behind the Three Red Lights. Also, what type of cooling system are you using? Is it a Nyko intercooler, or something you've made up? If you can, post pics of your setup! I just got my 360 back from being repaired, and was thinking of ways to keep it cooler. Thanks!

well, I dont have pics at the moment but basically, take 1 old PC power supply, rig the motherboard power connector with a paperclip to complete the circuit (this is so it will switch on), then I just got 2 case cooler fans I had laying about and covered them with some flyscreen (to keep cat hair n what not gettin in) and put them on the right side blowing air in to help the airflow. (I have my 360 horizontal)

Thanks for the post. I was thinking along the lines of a fan blowing in the right side like that.

And I don't want to have to send my 360 in4 different times to get it fixed. I'm not saying I'd have to send it in that many times, but alot of people have. I'd rather play games.

I heard the intercoolers do more damage than they resolve. I just keep mine about 5 inches from my wall and 5 inches from my tv and about 2 feet from the floor

Nyko Intercoolers draw power fromt he 360 and are thougth to cause problems also if anything happens with the power plug where the nyko connects MS wont repair it becuase you used unlicenced products.

There is just plenty of space around my 360, and the power supply is elevated off of the carpet.

that doesn't make any sense, so if your 360 breaks you aren't gonna "bow down" and get it repaired? That is weak s***

I have an Nyco Intercooler EX it is pretty good keeps it cool have never had a rrod. On the down side it is pretty loud and some time makes some weird noises or won't shut off when you turn the 360 off. So it does have those few bugs but in the end I find it is worth it to preserve the console and to play for longer periods of time

That's stupid. While the Microsoft team is clearly in error, a lot of the time it's user error too. You wouldn't build a computer with no fans would you?

i like things clean and organized, thats just my personality. so i use nyko intercoolers on my X360 and PS3. they're lying on their sides with plenty of space around them. i have never had a problem with either, 3-rings, freezing, over-heating. it's the little things that cost little to no money that keep you gamin without trouble.

Nothing.. It's a question of When your 360 will die, not if. If you're lucky, then it will last you a while, like me, I am still on my first after a year while almost every person I know with a 360 has had RROD.
